hey are any of you guys using any additives at all besides drip clean? i try not to buy into all the additive BS but i know that some of them do work. v+b seems to be pretty stand alone as is. i was thinking molasses but then i remembered it already has a carb supplemnt hince the lime lucas smell. i get these random urges to buy a bunch of additives i dont need lol.

Do a few runs of just plain V&B first , then decide if theres anything they might need as an additive . i was getting more frost when i was using protekt & GH nutes . so i wanted more silica with the V&B , instead of adding protekt to the nutes cuz it would make my PH go up a few points then i'd have to PH down to get it at 5.8 . i add food grade DE (85% silica )to my coco when i do transplants . i throw in 2 tblsp of the powdered DE in a half full pot of coco & then put the plant in & fill it .

I don't even use drip clean & I am running drip lines . haven't needed it for the lines or leaching the salts . just give them a couple low EC feeds every couple weeks .... usually on a rez fill & things have been great !!!

DH .... i don't think the molasses would hurt ..... use it on the low EC flush if anything .

Net ....them girls look like snow covered pine trees but i gotta think its more strain dependant than the nutes .V&B is great & it has some silica in it .... but even they recommend adding more . I know I need to add some to get the frost i was getting with protekt .

Those plants are gonna look sweet after a good flush !!! with all that frost & the fans will blacken up nicely keep up with the pics dude !!!

on a side note ..... make sure you keep all that sugar trim !!!! gonna be some kick ass hash

Added mollases for the last week I think it sweetened em' up a bit and brought out the colors! Dude that gave me the cut couldn't believe the frost on these girls! OG stank all day, didn't even touch these and had comments on how bad I stunk 3-4 hours later.

I got alot of frost with my old formula of GH flora & protekt & with the V&B the first couple runs with strains i know very well .....they didn't frost up like i was used to . i checked into it & even chris from HR said theres some silica in his mix ... but not alot & suggested to add a little more if I felt it was needed .I see a big difference in branch strength too when using silica

I tried adding protekt to the mix , but protekt also acts like a PH up & I had to use PH down to bring the levels back down .... so i just add powdered DE (85% silica ) to my coco instead .It gives me the silica without screwing with my feeds PH . which comes out perfect in my RO water .... no PH up or down needed .

i think i will get ahold of some liquid silica since my ph is 5.6-5.7 when i mix so when i add the silica it should sit me around 5.9ish.

This round i have in now ... i used 3 tblsp per 2 gallon pot & yes the frost is back as good as it ever was .

stay away from silica blast .... its mostly water .... most of the liquids are but SB is the worst concentration . protekt or yellow bottle are the best as far as liquid silica goes .

start off low doses ... like 1 or 2 ml per gallon ... the most i've ever used was 3ml per .
if your using a rez ...DTW .... you could bring the PH up to 6.0 or 6.1 cuz the PH seems to drop over a few days & you'll be fine for about a week on the same rez .

lol i just finished ordering a qt of silica blast before i saw your post. oh well. it was cheap and free shipping off ebay and i also ordered an extra 6" fan with free shipping from the same shop. i will use that and the DE i have laying around to help with the gnats as well

after seeing my buddies mom that he's flowering under two 400's i think im gonna flower my 4 moms under the 600's. i bet he pulls nearly a lb off one MASSIVE ak mom. its insane! ive never seen that big of a flowering plant in person. its amazing. im gonna scrog the shit out of my 4 moms and start 4 new ones from the lollipopping.

Day 15 12/12, Stretching has slowed and flower production has begun. Sprayed the OG with Reerse yesterday and this morning. The show didn't have the penetrator to mix in it so I'm not sure if it's going to work. I have sacs that will open soon, watching constanty and hoping to see them wilt or something.. Not sure how fast that stuff is supposed to work.

i wish my canopy was that even i guess thats one of the many downsides to running 5 strains at a time lol. next round is gonna be 4 moms flowered VERT SCROG around a 600 and a SOG under 2 600's. should be pretty cool to see how a vert grow of half strength wattage holds up to a SOG of double wattage. i hear the vert guys are knocking it out of the park with GPW...

anyways, here's a little update. can you say COLAS??? lol im gonna have some two footers i cant tell if i mislabeled one of my plants or if all the LST'ing and MILD defoliation stunted it pretty badly. if it is the strain its supposed to be then its about 2 weeks behind because of the stress. oh well as long as it catches up i guess.
