ah well, the time for budding is on its way, im guessing she will vegg out for another 12-15 days and then budding will take over, their are about 28 branches, most of them are about 2 1/2 feet long, my goal for 12 oz.'s is looking better and better, ill post another update in a couple days, i find it amazing how much even a couple days makes an impact on the way a plant grows outside its really quite amazing, anyways, anyone have any advice on how i can get this beauty to fill out bud-wise, i just want something basic for blooming, something i can get at any garden store, thanks :joint:

cut off all of the sucker buds, the lower two thirds or so of each branch. only main think branches, this will increase yield.

indeed, but buds and branches that dont get direct sunlight produce "shrapnel buds". dont believe me? Try it on one plant and compare the results. You'll be impressed with the effects.

hmm alright, so your saying cut off the lower bud sites on the braches when budding, and leave like the last 6-7 nodes on the branch stay?

once those start getting heavy with buds your going to have to tie all the branches to the main stalk.. or your gonna walk there one day and have branches with buds hanging in the dirt... id take out the lower branches that are stretched and bud sites are far apart... they will get juice but not produce anything but fluff buds.. get some good string and tie those suckers up once they start gettin heavy... something id suggest , dime

that plant looks great BTW, so basically lets say your main stalk was 2'' in diameter and 4' tall. lets say you had some chapstick tube size branches coming out of the main stalk, obviously.. you are going to want to leave those on. take anything off from below, say the size of a toothpick or smaller. Do not however disturb the top 1/3 of the plant. Basically you are having the plant focus its energy towards the top. One guy 57325, does a way better job of explaining. good luck. http://www.snow-white.nl/engeland/h28PRUNING.htm

well, that pretty much why the bottom of the plant is stretched out about almost 2 feet, but the lower ones are the biggest ones and when i looked at them today their appeared to be more preflowering on the lower branches, the bottom two are the biggest, should i still cut the bottom branches off??

wouldnt taking its biggest branches off shock it some what? not to mention she is showing more pre flowers every day, i had a female plant last year that was flowering 2 weeks about and somkething bit the head right off, took a few weeks to recover and budded out slowly

or do you mean...on all of the branches, all of the branches that are branching off the branches...remove those? lol that sounded confusing but it makes sense

All right,

This plant is looking nice! At first looking at the pics I was doubting that you could pull any real weight, but after these last few pics I think that you are in good shape.

I agree that some pruning would be a good thing. But everything is good in moderation (or most things atleast). The 'suckers' or 'shrapnel' are the really small branches coming off your main stalk(s). It is very important to differentiate between useless lower branches and stalks. Don`t chopp your burly stalks... this would cripple the girl.

Instead thin-out the smallest branches in crowded parts of the plant and those parts of the plant that don`t get good light. Most small (pop-corn nugget will form lower down on the plant... but I feel that outdoors the plants need less care cuz they will expand outwardsgiven eough light.

As for tying up (or down) the plant you are gunna want to get this going. I would tie the plant now, by using some 'training' (or gradually increasing) means of staking your plant down. Get green twine and open the girl bit by bit. This way she`ll yeild more too, and be more stable come flowerin`.

Just one more comment. Another poster on this thread mentioned that you should tie the plant 'up'. Meaning that you should tie the biggest branches to the main stalk to gain stability. This is a good idea. But I prefer to drive a few stakes into the ground around the plant and stake here 'down' or 'out which offer the same (if not more) stability and provides a bunch more light to the plant and can increase nodal gorwth in the center of the plant, also it will help wth wind movement in the center of the bushy gal at the end of the season which will decease mold issues.

ok, this the last comment for real... and i can`t even recall if this was even a question from this thread (sorry, I have a vague memory of q`s regarding getting organic ferts) as for ferts, you can totally get guanno where-ever you are at. Ask about it in garden centers... they all should have it. Esp. small garden cetners oriented to the backyard/home gardener. Get some heavy P stuff and you will be good. Also depending on location you might want to explore the yellow pages and call garden shops that seem like they might have a more diverse product stock (aka grow nutes). Just don`t geek anybody out on the phone.

I hope that this was helpful, good luck bringing up baby, no doubt you will be happy, peace bro, and just for the record my guess is six elbows.. but maybe a hp if you pimp her right
