How long has this problem been going on? 3 weeks+
What was the establishing technique? (Were the seed or clone?) Clone
What is the age of your plants? approx 3months
How long have they been in there mixture they are in now?(coco, soiless etc..) 2 weeks
How tall are the plants? 3-4ft
What PHASE are the plants in? (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? 1 week flower
What Technique are you using? Hand water, straight coco
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* Avg 10ml PureBlendProGrow + 5ml LiquidKarma + 5ml CalMg
How often are you feeding? (If using soiless) Every Watering
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients? Still using grow
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect) Same order as listed above, though I use Silica some feedings and add it first.
What is the TDS/EC/PPM you are using? Avg PPM of feed is 800, with runoff being +/- 100ppm on average
What is the pH of the "Tank"? Mixed to 6.0-6.2
Are you sure your calibration is correct on your equiptment? As sure as I can be
What size bulb are you using? 1kw hps
What is your RH Factor(Relative Humidity)? 40-60%
What is the canopy temperature? 75-83
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include flucutaion range) nightly low 65
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) approx 500cfm 6"
Is your water HARD or SOFT? Avg 35ppm
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? Tap

Problems seem to be only affecting lower growth. This is my first run w/coco and think I may be underfeeding but unsure.

Im having similar problems in coco with my Headband, but my leaves usually seem to curl down and I also have some turning all yellow and droping off completly. Started showing real bad once I started flowering.

Havnt figured it out yet, so im all ears if any1 knows. Ive tried flushing and adding some cal mag. Ive been leaning towards my pots being too big for coco (5gal), but then again Ive seen people doing 5gallon successfully too...

Not saying 100% but appears ph is off and definately locked out(not even taking water:-(). If you can, take a peak at the roots, the ends are probably getting brown/slimy? Hope it works out.

Looks to me you need to feed more often. Coco looks dry on top! If you let the coco dry the ppm's go up and the ph changes. Water them daily till run off. Drip trays look dry/clean too, should have some run off ah.....mitsu P.S. Nice clean set up!

I run almost the exact same nutrient reg as you except I use Nirvana, What is the runoff pH?

Runoff ph is approx 5.5-5.6

They're definitely taking water. This problem has been effecting the lower growth for nearly a month now, though the upper growth seems unscathed. I just transplanted to these 5gals two weeks ago and roots looked very healthy. I'll show ya ;)

Yeah, I hear ya mitsu.... thing is I've always maintained my wet/dry cycles to varying degrees, with seeming success. I know others feed daily some 3x, but I water usually every other day when using two gallon pots. I don't push the ppm too much so I don't think it's an issue of the EC/PPM rising. This is the way I've been doing it, all the other plants seem to love it. And these ones did too up until a bit ago.

Here's a couple more pictures for reference, they were taken approx two weeks ago right at transplant.

A little bottom leaf loss during flower is not that big a deal bro. Looks like you have a pretty dense canopy there. It's natural for a few on the bottom, that are not getting light anywayz, to be used up as food. That's why they curl up, instead of down. They are being sucked dry. Your plants look very healthy otherwise. Perhaps they were a little rootbound, and that caused the problem, but I doubt it highly. Lack of light near the bottom is my diagnosis.

Thanks Brother Monk, I honestly didn't think it was anything detrimental to the plant... and had wondered if it wasn't just a lack of light. Like I'd mentioned though this is my first coco run so just curious what others thought.

Could be you have a little toxic salt buildup going on too bro. Especially if they have been in the same pot a long time. Have you flushed at all? Now that you are in bigger pots, the issue should halt if salt was the problem. Just a thought.

Hey Kindhypnos.

Yeah of course in flowering it's naturual the bottom begins to drain.

Especially in cocos.

But i see some twisted leaf tips , i dunno , maybe u are over watering them?

I don't know what type of cocos everyone else uses here , but the one i use is ecostyle cocopeat , and with that , u have to give 30-50% less water then in soil cuz it retains much more water.

But i must admit i am no coco expert. I use cocos the same way as i use soil cuz i use a special cocos. So i only give rainwater , no liquid nutes.

Thanks for chiming in THC, I've yet to conclusively determine what it is... but I am going to let the coco dry out a little more then usual and give'em a healthy trim of the undergrowth that's not getting any light. These ladies were vegged entirely too long.

The coco I use is pure coco coir bought in bricks, there is no peat in it. I have grown in a coco blend before and yes it does retain water like no other. The coco pure, absorbs water just as well but retains much more air in the mix from what I've seen. Which in turn makes the roots/plant thrive much more like hydroponics then soil.

Hope you're having a good one, and nurse that ankle ya hear ;) .... cheers.
