another nub grow (cab grow)

hey hey hey all howzit goin? Hey thnx for stopn by my thread and sheading some light on a newb. Ive got a 2x2x2 cab in which i have 4 60 watt cfls. i was wondering as to how long i should veg b4 flouring so i dont over grow the cab. i was thinking 2 weeks then force for 2 but i dont wana under grothe cab yaknow. I can put some pics up if anyone is enterested and thnx for the help. Also i will b adding ventelation and more light as the plants grow into them.

You have 2 feet vertical? you are best flowering them asap, they will double to triple in size when flowering.

Hey New,

I was very suprised how much my ladies grew when they went into 12/12.

They put on 3 inches in the first 3 days!!!!!!!!!!! In the end I had to top them because the 400WATT HPS is real hot and I cannot go any higher.

Some people go 12/12 from seed or once cuttings take root.

hey hey hey got some nice swhiney new pics fors yas . Also i am very sorry as i have lied to you all. I said i had 4 60 watt cfls well the 60 watts actually turned out to be 14 watts each. I thought 8 bucks was cheap for four lights HAAAHA. So i will definetly be adding much more light very soon in the future. How soon do yall think i should bump it up to the desired 150 watt? Im thinking as soon as they sprout but as allways you shinning guidence is allways welcome. I found this what seams to b really nice bag dirt recipe that ima give a whirl. They said from seed all the way through flower so well c eh guys? I dont have my doughts though seem very nice.

you will want to get some ventilation in immediately. even 4 x 14 watts in a closed cabinet will get things heated up pretty good . buy a thermometer so that there is no guessing, temp-wise.

i was thinking about just cutting holes in it and buying like 8 or 10 inch desk fans. But if im going 12/12 right from sprout that aint an option . I am going to buy a carbon scruber but at the time im kinda straped for the cash. Thats why i was only gona buy one in about a week or so when i got paid. But if i need one asap i can order one but id be broke till i got paid . But yas gotstas dooes whats yas gotstas dooes i guess soo.. opinions?

Okay so i just bit the bullet and orderd the carbon scrubber ofa e-bay so thats on the way. Also i threw a metal meat thermometer in the big rubbermaid humadome and its sittin right on a nice 70 degrees. No sprouties yet buts its only day two so peace out

ok. temps are great, but they will go up somewhat when you crank up the wattage for flower. have you thought about how you are going to pump the exhaust air through the scrubber ? is fan noise going to be an issue for you ?

Yes i have the fan is 12x5x5 so it will fit right into the side cabinet the "spare" . The scruber has an inclosed fan and Im going to cut the hole the same size as the opening into the grow cab and shove the intake right into the grow area . As for intake into the grow area im not shur either the back or the bottom. Im thinking the bottom might b a lil harder to light proof than the back and also its sucking right off the ground. But its way stealthier. Yes fan noise is an issue so anything i have to do prop susspend or insolate wise i will do.

hi all sorry about fallin in my posts ive been pretty sick. So i left the cab unatended for 3 days straight first thing i did was check temp chillin right on 70. Also my fan has not shown up yet thats really what im waiting on to finish my cab offand bump my lights up to flourin. So 3 of 8 beanie babies have poped

alright guys its day 6 and i got 50% beanie babies a sproutin(will its only 4 but its still true). I was tired of waiting on my carbon scrubber so i just went and bought my big lights i got 4 x TRUE 42 watts so now its a 168 watt cab insted of a 56 watt BIG BIG diffirence haha duh!

can u see the diff?? HAHA! soo now all i need is my scrubber light proof the box and time everything and we sould b lookin pretty good eh??

guys i got another nub questionive got several sprouties and im gona b goin to 12/12 very soon im using blazeoneups dirt mix i was wandering how big of contaners i should transplant my sprouties into? i was thinking 20 oz. but maby after a good look at those they look kinda smalli dont wana transplant twice so?? if nething ill just makem as big as possible. oooh yeahi got some blueberryfrom a friend som imgona b throin that in the mix and thnx again guys fo all the help info guidence and encouragementpeace

hi all howzitgoin?? good good. Well me ive been busy workin and living ect. . I installed my carbon scrubber what a POS!!! no suction at all ANd it was leaving my cab around 85 degrees WAY to HOT so i went to the hardware store and bought a generic air fan and i rigged it to force the air right into my scrubber so now my temps are in check at a nice 65 degrees and i cant turn the big fan up or down depending on whatever i need. so in short dont buy the scrubber of of ebay unleff you got some force induction for it because the little computer fan just cant full the air through all that carbon. Also i transplanted into bigger cups using blazeoneups dirt mix. I only got 5 out of the 8 plants to sprout but there growin and lookin good. i set them to 12\12 about 5 days ago and not to much change as of yet i have noticed some of them are starting to grow really bushy right at the top instead if alot of really big leaves and vertical growth well see for yourself

heres the mega jumbo fan i shoved in that tinny ass grow box its really KILLIN my space but if it keeps my temps in check ill live with it


the aluminum tape is taped up to the carbon scrubber i can actually feal air exiting the back now!!

Great grows can be had in small spaces, don't be daunted. Have you considered doing a scrog? Scrog can bring in an easy oz/sqft compared to a much lower yeild likely without. Having said that, you can grow small plants in there. You can grow in party cups, but will be watering often or you can grow in small containers. 1/2 gal. milk jugs cut down would be just about right. You don't need to go 12/12 right off the bat but can let them get 5 to 8 inches tall first. Young plants don't tend to stretch near as much as their mature counterparts do.

Do you have any means for incomming fresh air? I didn't see any. You mention temps at 65degrees. Try to keep your lights on no more than 78 and your lights off no less than 70. Greater temp swings will work but tend to slow growth.

BTW, your lamps are taking up alot of room. Have you given thought to aranging them horizontaly with a different type of reflector. This will give you more grow room and better light. CLF bulbs give more light off the length of the body than they do from the ends.

yes hal i have given though to the Scrog and without a mother plant and my limited experience with cloning i voted on just starting from seed. You see hal i have about 3 months to find a new place to live so my thoughts on starting 12/12 right from seed was to get them finished as soon as possible so i can clean it up and shut it down till i find a new place to live. Also this grow is just to get some experience b4 i grow my white widow( i wana make all my mistakes with free seeds) and also that just makes my widow better. I cut a air inlet in the back of the wall and light proofed it. my temps with light on are right at 78 exactly(i turned the fan down its was on super blower mode) and withought im just asuming ambient temps wich are about 60-65. and with my lamps im just trrying to focus as mush light on the top bud as i can. I dont have alot of time to "pimp my cab" but this is as good a setup i can produce at this time in my life and to tell you the truth if i get 1 bowl of bud out of it all i will be exctatic.But once i move out this cab will prolly b my veg cab and ill flower with a 400 hps in a seperate room thats just not an option where i live now.
