This reminded me of my mom's best friend's daughter. The girl, whom I haven't met face-to-face, did the normal teenage rebellion shit, but ended up a heroin junkie pretty quick (bad crowd route)HCSmyth said:
She lives in CO now, and she called up her mom one night from her methadone clinic's lobby screaming over the phone that the "clinic" had refused her dose because she had to work (covered a co-worker's shift as OT) & missed her appointment. She was a few hours late, and they noted it as a "bad mark" against her, and refused her dose while she was shaking & shit from methadone withdrawl right in front of them.
Long story short, her mom hung up, called the clinic directly, threatened a lawsuit & the girl was promptly given her dose with the stipulation that she was never late again for her scheduled dose times, otherwise they were dropping her as a "client".
After she got that straightened out, she was ranting & raving about how they could have killed her from with-holding the dose, and she made a few calls down here to methadone clinics, and found out that in CO, they can actually refuse your dose for missing an appointment, or even just being late for one. Something about a loophole in CO law.....
Either way, it was bullshit, she made it well-known if she died because of them refusing her dose, she was going to sue them "to the edge of the universe & back" for it.
