From what I understand, growing is a Federal Felony. So is murder. If you use a gun on someone even if they are robbing your house, and you are growing. You cannot use self defense clause in court. Also if you neighbor decides to call your local chapter of the DEA and they ever come over for a visit, possession of a firearm and a manufacturing are going to fuck you in court. So just a heads up brother be safe.

... I live in the country so I don't take care of my lawn as good as I should but I really just don't have enough pipe to keep everything green and mowed nicely. I live by myself on 7 acres so I cant keep my house looking perfect at all times.

IMO, you shouldn't be expected to keep the entire 7 acres in lawn condition. But your lawn should be in accordance with any homeowners' association or the like.

Your field could be maintained according to rainfall. Mow it every month, every other, or as necessary. Might be little as once a year.

So the neighbor wants you to water the field to maintain green? If I'm not mandated otherwise, I'd let it turn black and point to Bear's shrub. Hope he gets off your ass.

im not trying to sound like a dick, but if you can swing some cameras and a new gate, you can probally afford to hire a guy to mow or some goats.

If the local police come you may want to turn it on them. I mean, if what you are doing is legal he is wasting tax payer money coming over to your place. And I would force a warrant unless being legal there means you surrender that right.

On that much land you may want to get some kind of animals to eat it though. Kind of a sin to let it go to waste. You could have a cow out there and have a freezer full of beef someday. It's just like growing your own weed.

I have a different outlook on this than most of the posters here, I guess. I prefer keeping a low profile and trying to get along with my neighbors. The 215 laws got voted in by the general populace, and can get voted back out by them. I've been following a lot of the controversy in Redding (check the following link) and these growers that are thumbing their collective noses at their neighbors aren't doing any of us any good in the long haul. I have no problem standing up for my rights, but I have been doing this long enough that I simply prefer that no one knows what the hell is going on.

I found out long ago that lot's of Oregonians have a slightly different take on yard maintenance and zoning. I was considering moving north of Grant's Pass for a job once and was looking around at potential places to live. When I saw a house that was probably in the $5+ million dollar range, with long landscaped driveway, freestanding 6-8 car garage, formal gardens, guest house, etc, and it's next door neighbor was a mid-50's Airstream with cars up on concrete blocks, I knew I wasn't in California anymore.

Just do what you can to show you have made an effort.Clean up ,throw away any debris in your yard ,and even if you can't make it green or lush.At least cut it and keep it trimmed .He'll notice this ,everybody can cut their lawn at least .At 7 acres it make take a day or 2 though..

When push comes to shove,I've not seen many 'legal' growers win. Your praying about WHO they call and WHAT they tell them.

I can't find the link,its about ten years ago,but the story was about a Northern California homeowner on a campaign against his neighbors mega backyard 'legal dispensary' grow.

He painted huge signs, 'My neighbor is growing pot' the length of his house and alerted the ever nosey local news medias,they ran wild with the story.

Guess who won.

These days home values are way down and unemployment is the worst that I can remember,it doesn't take much for the people to go 'Gladys Kravitz' over proposed cell phone towers,small concert venues,dispensaries and grows.

Number one rule is stealth. You lost yours.You went from proud weed warrior to scared and confused. Time for U-haul.

Hey guys and girls thanks for the great advice. I took all of yesterday to ponder my predicament. I also watched some of my my security camera footage. The whole argument took place right in front of my camera. I could visibly see this guy was shit faced drunk. I was also drunk when it happened so I couldnt really tell how hammered he was. With that in mind I am going to do whatever I can to make this old fuck happy. As for the cops I don't think he called them but if he did I am ready for that fun day. I really dont want to have to move from this opp. I have sunk a lot of money into this property. So I am going to grab my balls and keep walking down the green road. A lot more cautiously. I hope someone learns from this. If you grow big ass plants in your back yard make sure your front looks better than the god damn white house.
