Hey guys i just upgraded from a fire tv to a nvidia shield tv, holy smokes!!!! What a huge difference! If i was stoked on iptv an kodi with firetv before i dont even know what to say i am now....
It works flawlessly i havent paused to buffer or had one hiccup and the true 60hrtz 4k is beautiful!
Id highly highly suggest this unit.
It works super fast super smooth and i personally havent experience any more buffering since upgrading.
Get the refular one for 199 an add your own memory, the 500g pro version is a rip off at 299.
You can get the regular version with 16 gigs for 199 an add a terrabit portable hard drive for 53 dollars at best buy. Much better value.
Not to mention this thing has console quality games, no joke. 1080p games good titles i was really amazed when i played a few.
You also get a 3 month free preview of like 30 or maybe more games then to access all of them its 7.99 a month. That includes your online multiplayer play too by the way. I totally cracked out last night playing multiplayer rally car racing...lol an its the same game play experience as my xbox1!

Damn, they must be selling like hotcakes, because when I bought it last summer it was $149 w/o remote, and $199 with. I'm happy with the gaming controller provided. They tacked another $50 bucks on tho, still worth every penny...
What I do is very few days or so, I go to all the good repo's, and hit 'check for updates' I pay attention to the version #, and if one should of updated but didn't, it must mean I need a zip from a place like https://seo-michael.co.uk

I've been using Kodi on a Matricom box for nearly a year now. $99 at Amazon. The box has 2 USB ports, HDMI, SD card slot, bluetooth, 16GB onboard, infinite storage via the usb or SD. So I can hookup a lot of stuff! I use a wireless mouse mostly. It also has CEC which lets you turn all your gear on and off with the box if the rest also is CEC compatible.
It's got its ups and downs, which have been described before. However I'm extremely pleased to be able to drop my Netflix, cable TV, (and phone) and get high speed internet for multimedia (100+mbps). I now use magic jack for the phone.
I installed a few good addons. If you get the TVaddons from tvaddons.ag it will set you up with a lot of other addons so you don't need to search the repos.
I'm saving > $100 a month, and my selection of shows is much greater, also getting all the British shows. There was so little worth watching on Mediacom anymore. I didn't like having to pay for sports channels, which were included in every cable TV package.
Best of all I like watching news. I can get Deutche Welle, EuroNews, BBC, Al Jazzera (which you can't find on cable tv anymore!), CBSN, and more.
Remember folks, some addons put you in a Gray area legally esp. if you download and save copyrighted material without paying for it.
However, there is no law saying you can't just watch (spool) the show or movie from an online source without keeping a copy. So enjoy!

I've just noticed star wars has gone on to the torrent sites in blu-Ray rip so should be on some of the addons. I'm gonna go hunting now lol

Got it on 720 on ump but I thought bluray was 1080?
I see it as if you have a buddy next door, and he let's you borrow a movie, except it's whole libraries lol. Kodi is international, so I believe they would have to ban it in every country, not likely. The biggest threat to Kodi isn't even that, it's the fully loaded box sellers, who are catching the attention of the piracy hawks. They're sprawled out all over Ebay, and Amazon like 'Hey, look at me!'.

I was thinking that when it says blue ray, it's the format in which it's being copied from. Others say HDrip, x264, x265... I havent even got around to ump yet, lots of HD?
If it's available, the developers should light that shit up today, probably seeing 1080p ones by tomorrow latest...

Yeah ump seems good. It tells you what quality they're in when it brings up the list of sources.
I also see star wars on exodus but the ump version looked clearer.

Release Hub on the Entertainment Repo has 1080p 5.1 sound. A few of them.

You can get Entertainment from the Fusion addon installer--click repositories. E hub and Release Hub are better than exodus imo. To me Exodus has kind of become like an Icefilms, where it's all 720p. I hardly ever watch it anymore, b/c I'm a picture nut...

Watch1080 in the mettal kettle repo brings up nothin but nice hd links 95% of em are 1080p
