first there are more than 2 sexes among the human population, you have the standard xx/xy(female/male) then you also have xO(ie only one chromosome) (female) and the reverse yO(male), both are very very rare then you have XXY and YYX, the YYX could generate female atonamy while still having an abundunce of Y chromosomes(ie maleness), the caveat being that the gene SRY generate male atonamy and is not always present on a Y chromosome, in the case of an YYX you would expect to see mostly males but a few females would also exist.
well, the problem isn't really biological imo, but rather, how crazy it is to exclude athletes from what is considered a 'normal' xx or xy make up? how many of the people who have rare configurations of chromosomes can be said to be more or less capable to the point of it being an advantage or a handicap?
there's no standard to make these sort of judgements, is there?
