Analyzing a tincture?

What is the best way to analyze a tincture for THC, CBD's and CBN's?

Is it just trial and error for each strain/tincture, or should I have each batch analyzed by a professional?

Cheers for the info.

it will probably cost to get it analyzed professional but incase you choose to you want someone with expierence in gas chromatography.

To our discredit, we still titrate each new batch locally, instead of having it analyzed.

THC, CBD's and CBN's all have their signature symptoms and from a practical standpoint, either the tincture works for the malady it is formulated for or it doesn't.

Of note, following the same formula usually produces pretty consistent results.

Thanks a lot GW for the help. Pardon my ignorance, but how does one titrate each batch locally? (I looked up the definition and still don't quite get it).

Also, do you create your tincture for specific malady's? My early results show that my tincture is very euphoric and has anti-depression properties.

Thanks again for your expertise. Cheers

Sorry to be so slow to respond Charlie. I usually don't hang out in the cooking section and just noticed this.

What I meant by titrate locally was after I have titrated it for myself, I ask volunteer testers with a range of tolerances and conditions try it out.

At least here locally, OMMP volunteer patient testers are easy to find and it allows a reasonably accurate estimate of potency.

I and some of the other testers have about a 3X tolerance, so one standard dose for a low tolerance person is usually around 1/3 rd of my own titrated dose.

I think the answer to your question as intended is no. I do make different meds for different purposes but not by list of maladies.

I also make them out of bud, sugar leaf, fan leaf, or stems, which range from speedy to sedating.

I have found that one concoction will usually ameliorate any number of different symptoms however.

Thanks for the great information, Gray Wolf. :tiphat: Now for more experiments! I find that taking lots of notes and photos and interviewing testers is helping to create a body of data that is leading to some solid consistent results.

Deal is... Tinctures are a brilliant and effective use of this amazing plant!:jump:
