An unfortunate mistake

I use the compost pile now :)
But when i do find the need to toss something, i put in a small plastic grocery bag (doubled). Then i toss it in the trash can that sits right beside every single gas pump anywhere as i fill up. Even 2-3 such bags would only make people think i had just cleaned out a very dirty car. No leaves of course.
These guys were not very smart at all.

BB gas stations are loaded with camera's, especially ones to catch your reg plate and ones covering the pumps, dumping there really seems like a bad idea even when you have the good sense to remove labels or incriminating stuff.

But.... They are there for you to use  Everyone can and does use them all day everyday. Long as you don't steal gas your fine. Long as you got no smelly leaves in there your fine  Long as you don't leave a tall kitchen bag there your fine :) We are not dumping large amounts, or even dumping at all, just a small bag or two as needed, and just as most other people are seen doing all the time.

In a way your right but for your own sake, please dont do it out in the open where there are cameras.

Your a good man BB and I would hate to see you get popped, please reconsider the gas stations :tiphat:

One point of the story I don't think I was very clear on in the OP...

My friend told me the only reason the management investigated this dumping is because they dumped the shit in the recycling bins. The guy had to go out there and pull all these bags out of that dumpster and because of that he opened them and found what he found which resulted in pulling the video and calling the cops.

Good chance that if they had used the right dumpster this shit would not have happened.

The gas station would be the last place I would throw away grow trash, because it is guaranteed that they have your face, lic plate # and time recorded. If it just so happened someone did find grow trash while emptying the cans they pretty much have enough info on you to really fuck you in the ass.

At least if you got caught on a security cam behind a building it might not get your lic # or face necessarily.

COOKIE MONSTER - I appreciate your concern, and especially the kind rep message :friends:
But....

I use the compost pile now :)

For all plant related material

And the things i do choose to dispose of in such a manner, would never be tied to a grow in any type of way :) I do a lot of tricky shit around here, and have different kinds of items to throw away i might not be comfortable with putting in my personal trash. I think if done just like any other motorist would tossing a small bag in there, and without any crazy shit in there (leaves/males/whatever crazy) someone would easy recognize, It's a very safe practice IMHO having done it many years now. And I'll keep recommending it. Far better than dumping in a private dumpster/recycling area, where you will most likely get caught, and you will get prosecuted for it.
Perhaps i needed to include more details, or i we may need to agree to disagree on this one my friend

Of course there will always be the fuck ups. There always is ;)
Shit, and not that i would/or condone, but i bet a body could be disposed of in such a way.

But when i do find the need to toss something, i put in a small plastic grocery bag (doubled). Then i toss it in the trash can that sits right beside every single gas pump anywhere as i fill up.

And to top it all off  Sucks this don't apply to the city cats though.
The gas stations here don't have any cameras. Sure drive a bit to the closet city, and they are everywhere. But out here in the local country it's all good.:smoweed:

These guys were not very smart at all.

Agreed that they were foolish to throw it in the recycling bin. That's just karma biting them.

Just like the reason the cams were there in the first place. The ppl who were dumping shit from out of the community were leaving it outside the bins and being assholes. If everyone just followed the rules so to speak and was respectful of the complex then everyone would probably still be ok.

I had a friend that always laughed and told me that he just double bagged his shit and left it at the curb at his house and never had a problem.. until he did and went to jail.

People seem to think that if "they" start looking then its too late. I don't agree with that. I think if you are always watching the little things and being careful, it still makes it hard for them to come in. The person I'm referring to made 4 stupid mistakes that they found before they finally came in.

First your posts in the Aaron Bassler thread, now this.

Nobodys diggin through your trash unless you are under investigation? HAHAHAHAHHA

People dig through my trash on a regular basis looking for recyclables and probably trying to steal my identity, you are EXTREMELY naive.

You seriously think throwing away grow trash even in a med state is a good idea? Please quit growing now.

Compost / fire / safely dumping at a remote location is the way to go.

And if DEA pulls your trash and you now have this "advanced notice" what are you gonna do? They will be kicking your door in with a judge signed warrant before you can even attempt to hoist gear over the back gate where your buddy is waiting. Oh you did manage to destroy all the plants before they got in? Oh okay have fun with your destruction of evidence FELONY charge. The point is to AVOID DETECTION, not to be obvious and then aware when you have attracted the wrong attention.

Do your research before you start giving out shitty advice, people go to jail over this shit bro. Grows get busted for a few reasons, power theft / excessive consumption (in some states), smell, snitches, trash pulls or giving the cops another legal reason to enter the property.
Very questionable wisdom, imho.

Nobody's picking your trash unless you're already suspected and under investigation.

If you're not under investigation, what's more likely to cause you a problem? A bag of grow trash mixed in with all your household garbage, or driving around transporting a bag of grow trash and throwing it in someone else's garbage.

If you are under investigation, how likely is it you're fucked no matter where your trash goes?

And, for that matter, put a cam on the curb side trash with motion detection and just check if anyone pulls it overnight on trash day. If they do, guess what, you just got advanced notice and have time to break down.

Of course, shit could happen. Kids toss the trash on the street as a joke, coons tear it apart, etc. But, then, shit can happen period when you take it to dump it somewhere else too.

Word.

Don't break the law while you're breaking the law.

Right .. cause a bit of trash placed well within the rest of the garbage is oh so obvious.

I'm not naive, I know what the fuck is going on on the block, and I don't live in some shit hole where people go through my trash for recyclables. Maybe move into a better hood, bro.

Have fun dumping your shit in areas under other peoples control. Maybe if you paid a little more attention you'd notice that there's a lot more bust stories that mention people getting caught dumping trash outside the home than there are ones that mention cops pulling home trash and finding evidence to secure a warrant.

And the DEA? Right. Well, if you're worrying about the DEA than your situation is vastly different than mine and the same advice doesn't apply.

imho, the real gotchya is habit. Doing the same exact routine all the time is dangerous. A little bag of chopped up stem/leaf double bagged inside the kitchen trash in the middle of the trash bin at a spot you've been at long enough to know the neighborhood and have it all on camera ain't shit to get your panties in a twist about.

I am a noob to the board but I have something to add to the trash issue. My brother made a late night dump at a strip center. Somehow a manager got his license plate number. About a week later he had the sheriffs department at his door questioning him. Nothing ever came of it as of yet and he did not get in the house. I just want to reinforce that even when being careful there can be some asshole watching that will be more than happy to fuck someone over and it does happen.

As for me I struggle with a nosy, retired missionary, die hard baptist neighbor. The zealous fucking bastard even called the cops when I was moving in. And why did he call? Because he did not recognize the 4 pickups hauling shit into an empty house with a for sale sign in broad daylight. I guess the moral of the story is watch your shit because someone else probably is too in some form or fashion.

Timely thread...Earlier this week I had to root through my own trash because I thought I had thrown trimmings in there by accident. Turned out that I did. :(

People rooting through trash...I live in a rural area, and I know there are people that root through my trash looking for stuff. Ive heard them late at night.

Safest way to get rid of your trimmings is mulching them when you mow your lawn if possible.

Wouldn't recommend burning them if you live in a densely populated area, I read a story once about someone getting busted because a cop smelled burning weed coming from a house...turns out the grower was burning his grow waste.

Dumpsters are a bad idea also as there are cameras pretty much everywhere these days and nosy people abound.

These days though I hardly have any waste other than stems and large fan leaves....stems get broken up and tossed out into the yard, broken up they blend in pretty well. Large fan leaves either get mulched in the yard when the lawn is mowed, or burned a little at a time in the fireplace...

Root balls are my main problem. I shake off and reuse as much dirt as possible, but I usually end up with large rootballs...I'll usually break these up and work them into my outdoor flower beds. Next year I am thinking of getting a composting barrel and than just composting them,
