hi, i am not familiar w/ the electrical practices and cofigurations on your continent so any advice i can offer is "Theory" only!!

i would ask that someone familiar w/Australian electrical setups/standards give u the major advice u r seeking.

those power strip type protectors are fine for small loads but i woulnt consider plugging 1000 watt ballasts into one

good luck and sorry i cant help ur "aussie growin ass"
but you need an expert from ur continent.
BUZZ!

DOh, I expected it'd be sumthin like that. Thanks anyway mate.
I might do as much reading, damnit my old house mate was an electrican (coloqialism in Aus is "a sparkie"). Shame we moved out on bad terms.

thanks anyway buzz

Stonewall a "dead front" is when you take the panel cover off,you still have the "dead front" panel covering the lugs and busbar, remove this and you can remove breakers and all that good shit.Bro you said to use gfi's in the growroom then correctly stated what a pain in the ass they can be during HID startup especially,I wouldnt use a gfi receptacle or breaker in my room

Thanks for the clarification SKELETOR.

Yes, I would not use GFCI on the lighting circuit, it should be grounded properly, have properly sized overload protection and be isolated as best as you can fom human contact.

however all pumps and small fans should be on GFCI protected circuits. IMHO.

toke it easy :sasmokin:

i use em on all my circuits in the grow space ,lighting and all w/ no problems
but i keep my loads under 70% of the breaker/gfci rating (20 amps)

Thats a good point if I were growing hydro I may consider it,but not for soil. The first thing I used to do when I went on a new job where the power tools were on a gfi circuit would be to cut that damn wire otherwise I'd be resetting the breaker 10 times a day
