I did some preliminary movement into getting a special permit to grow many plants, and in that process it became clear that there was a certain clique that would get the permit. Someone like me? Nah. They just take that application fee (not cheap) and turn anyone down that isnt on the inside. Its corrupted before it even started bro. I've never been for legalization. I've always been for freedom.

I have not heard this about legalisation with only controlled beans. It raises many questions.
It used to be a prison sentence, and still people shipped cuttings. However the whole breeding business falls apart, if people can legally grow, but only with controlled beans.

Being involved in a project in the Himalayas, I pay for samples to be collected. To consider shipping them here was a deep dive into recent law. I only did that because I want nothing to do with those other genetics. Thankfully I'm not alone, and found an easier route than starting at ground zero and step one. So the project in the mountains will come to its end. What a relief.

I know of a collective based loosely around spain/portugal, who have been working quite different lines for some time. I think you need to be in with them, but was offered an introduction. Not all is lost, although pollution is a global problem. Natives of many lands, who farmed for a living, have been very happy to trade their beans for hybrids that could turn their finances around. It used to seem a great trade, but is actually very harmful.

Yes, it's done intentionally to get their genetic marker into their crops, and unintentionally like you say. My wife is thinking of moving to Portugal as we get older. I would be happy to know more about the collective.
