How to Build a Four Light Grow Light Controller for Less Than $80



What i'm looking to find out is, can i build this with a 4 wire dryer plug? If so can anybody help me with that.... its pretty much built except for this dryer plug... cause when it camed down to it i realized it wasnt 3 wire.... where do i put the red wire? if its impossible can somebody help me figure out or just straight up tell me how to wire the INTERMATIC ( http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS/EN_US/jsearch/product.jsp?pn=100088282 )


can i use the dryer outlet? how do i do it? do i wire 240 recepticles from that?

i desperatly need help!!! i have 3000 watts and 50 babies dying to be under it and this shit is holding me back!!!!!!!! im so sad right now, i need u expert wizard geniuses...

black and red are the hot phases, white is the insulated neutral and the green or bare is the safety ground. In your linked instructions, they use the white as a hot phase, this is not code (unless you designate it with a black or red marker). With your 4 wire dryer cord you should use the red and black for the hot phases instead of the white and black. You have no use for the white neutral conductor in a 240 volt circuit. So just cap it off, insulated from contacting anything.

Does it matter which side i put the red or black wire? or is it the same either way???

no difference, just keep it consistant through out the circuit.
