Hi Guys

Here is a pic of my first plant. Its about 2-3 weeks since germination. The temps in my grow box can get a bit high around 85F / 30C for 5-6 hours during the day before settling back down around 75-78F.

Am i cooking my plant ? Its looking a bit yellow and the very tips of the leaves seem to be browning.

Iv also been a bit scared of over watering so the soil is a bit on the dry side.

Thanks guys

It is not a temperature burn. Maybe slight nutrient burn. What kind of light are u using?

I wouldnt feed them any nutrients other than a very loww amount at this stage.

Another thing that concerns me is your soil. There seems to be a lot of wood chips? Is that just on the top or is your while mix like that.

Hi Dude :)

First off thanks for replying, this is the first reply i have recieved on any of my posts !

It may very well be , i did accidently put a bit too much SeaSol into my water when i watered the other day, i thought nothing of it at the time but now that you mention nute burn ....

Heres what i use to mix into my water.

You have put me at ease somewhat thanks Big TeeJ !

The light is a 250w CFL, its a huge bulb lol. The soil is pretty crappy, there is alot of wood chips and bark in it. I have got myself a really nice new mix that i made of pearlite, spagnum moss and potting mix.

Once the plants a bit bigger and i think will be safe to transplant, it will be going into a Smart pot with the new soil :)

Transplant it now into better soil and add a little soil up the stem closer to the leaves.

100 watts would have been plenty for such a tiny plant as well.

The sooner you transplant into better soil the sooner your plant will take off.

BTW:

Wood materials that decomposes uses lots of nitrogen and this could be a reason
why your plant was yellowing. In good soil and fed a small amount of nutrients in
a few days this will disappear and the new leaves will be greener.

Do add enough water when you transplant so the
water comes out the bigger containers holes.

Much of what I was going to say. Right on corky!

Add perlite to good soil, too.

Iv just repotted my first seedling into some new good soil mix :) Gave it a good water, still maybe on the light side of watering but will check in a few hours.

In that bigger pot the plant will be able to really get growing.

Misting the plant lightly 2 or 3 times a day helps during transplanting.

I mist anytime I transplant for a day or so.

looks like either nute burn or the soil too heavy. I don't like bark in my indoor soil. Cannabis "likes its feet dry" meaning light and well-drained soil. For me that means 30% perlite (or 2 to 1 perlite-vermiculite), 50% peat or coir, and 20% compost.

I don't know how many seeds you have - if it's a lot, I would keep starting seedlings every week until you get the mix right. Once they're into bad soil it's hard to fix it. these look like they're only about a week old. I like to use small cups for seedlings too. It will take forever for a tiny plant to suck the moisture out of a big container.

Thanks for the input guys. I will go and grab a soil PH test kit today and see what it says.

I think it was probably nute burn from when i mixed too much liquid fert into my water. All new growth is coming through nice and green
