All yellow tops...

I have a sage and sour feminized seed that I vegged for two months and has been in flower now for four to five weaks... Two of the tops that are right under the light are all yellow... The tiny leaves are yellow and what looked like the beginning of the bud was all yellow... Is this just light damage. It's ten inches under the one thousand watt bulb... I looked and didn't c any manners...

10 inches under a 1000 watt that's not cooled is way too close IMO. I have a 400 watt and try to not let mine get closer than 12 inches.
But as mentioned, pictures would really help.

Pictures would help as said, but it sounds like light bleaching to me.

Sorry guys I need to get me a camera... But the hood is air cooled... And trust me I always put my hand there to check... The weird thing is that I've always had the hood this close... The only difference this time is that I'm using a regular hps and not the dual arc bulb I've ran for a while... From what I've read though they say the dual arc bulb is really like a 600 hps and a400mh together ... So really I think I have to realize that this hps is hotter then the dual arc...

I'd have to agree that 10 inches is too close, and this is the most likely cause. I have 400 watt lights on a light mover that are 12 inches above the tops and I'm pushing it. A few tops are stretching at the tip, I think from the heat.

However, I believe that some strains naturally get golden flowers when under "exposed" conditions. I believe I have heard this reported for Malawi Gold.

I have seen pictures of Zacatecas Purple which were gold. They turn violet if maturing under cold conditions. Zacatecas is supposed to be a compenent of SAGE.

Another possibility is too much fertilizer. This has happened to me. I used too much kelp, so it was probably too much of one or more micronutrients, but I don't remember which one(s) can produce this.

Good Luck

Sounds like light bleaching as lamp is to close.......however some strains react differently and can take that amount of light, so maybe it's the strain yer growing doesn't need such intensity of light.

I like to keep my lamp as close as possible to the canopy. Most strains are fine with this but have suffered light bleaching on certain strains, Warlock was one, but started to thrive when I raised the light and returned to a lush green.

No pic's so that's all I and others can assume is the problem.

See what others say.
