All my fan leaves are falling off???

i have 2 female seeds ice plants 5 weeks into flower. They both have spider mites but 1 of them has them alot worse. but i dont think the damage could be caused by just spidermites because the leaves go completely yellow and dry out then fall off. its happening to so many leaves there are almost no fan leaves on 1 of them and its infested with spidermites...

its hardly producing any bud, just hairs and the other 1 already has smallish buds.

my question is what can be done this late into flower?

mites are mo-fo and you have just experienced them at first hand!..next grow you will be much more vigilant and inspect for the first tell-tale signs of mites pin dots on leaves every time you look at your plants...looking for mites will become second nature...mites are relatively easy to conquer if you catch them very early. ( the first thing you do is remove the pin dotted leaves)
if spider mites are everywhere ..as well as creating webs all over the plant...and.... the plant is sick and has lost all leaves then I would cut the plants, remove all the leaves and soak them in water ..hang dry

and start all over again

It's also likely that the you created conditions that weakened the plant (over watering?..over fertilizing?...pH off?) in turn allowed the mites to take over..vibrant healthy plants can resist mites much better than those in a weakened state

I'd suggest you thoroughly clean the grown room/area....hose off all the pots and floor covering...I'd also spray new plants, the pots and the grow room with a miticide to prevent the inevitable re-occurance of them

What are the details of your setup/enviro/nutes? Pics would really help as well as ALOT of plant problems show up as yellowed leaves. If the problem is starting from the bottom of the plant then it's an issue with N, P, K, or Mag most likely...but it could be caused by many different things.

To be honest whatever the problem with the plant, if the mites are bad you will be better off saving time in the long run and cutting cleaning and re-starting your grow now.

I really think the mites have took over here. The leaves yellowing and falling off are prolly due to the mites in this case. Theres really not shit you can do that late in flowering besides maybe washing the leaves with water and crushing the little shits with your fingers. You dont want to spray with chemicals. The yeild will be reduced greatly so either tear em down and start over or ride it out. They will get frosty as hell from the mites attacking. This raises the plants defence mechanism and leads to frosty buds but small yeild.

yeh im def guna ride it out, only 3-4 more weeks to do. i know what you mean about frosty, even large leaves are frosting up nicely, i think the mites love it though:(

if you are going to wait..then I'd suggest you use a pump up mister with medium strong nozzle setting and spray above and below every leaf....spray away from the buds as you don't want to knock off resin heads..this is best done on a table so the plant is easy to get at and do it outdoor or in the bathroom so you can hose the area down afterwards

increase the relative humidity, drop the temps and with daily leaf spraying you should be able to keep them under control until harvest

keep us informed

i had a close look last night, the spidermites are doing this crazy thing, they create huge clusters of themselves at the end of the bud leaves and inside and so obviously i crushed it and inside there was this green stuff that smelt of thc chrystals. they have proper taken over 1 plant guys, i keep crushing them but more come back each day...

the other 1 seems to be self controling them, there are some but nowhere near as many as the other 1 and the buds are still forming nicely...

spray miticide on those plants you have recently switched to 12/12 or I guarantee they will be over run in a matter of weeks

trying to squash them won't work at all!

but if you want to do something useful, you can flick each leaf ( hard, just like you are flicking someone's ear) to make the mites falls off..this works if you do it every day and maintain conditions unfriendly to mites..

I also suggest (strongly urge) you do some reading through previous threads about mites and how to eradicate them

Hi all

I would suggest useing the Preditor mites...Tbh there the only thing i have had to try.And they worked a treat...

For what it's worth here is a pic of my last plant, which was reinfested with mites 2 weeks ago. I had originally treated in Sept. with the vinegar/baking soda mix, obviously got 99% of them, reappeared 2 weeks ago, though I'm sure they were there before,I just didn;t notice them. I gave them another treatment and rinsed the shit out of them in the kitchen sink with the sprayer,[much to the dismay of the old lady]. Shook as much water as I could off them and put them back under the lights. Did not seem to harm them although I was worried about mold. Harvested last night.
