UB, yeah, ya kind of figure they'll do ok, but they just don't like heat... MAJOR difference in the current crop! Did you notice alot of overwatering symptoms when it was too hot?
CannaBiz, Ak is a killer strain, too killer sometimes. Leaves me in a daze that's hard to function in (I'm about to roll some anyway) Looking forward to seeing your thread.
A friend ran ak47 in one of his grows - it was really stinky, requiring a good carbon filter and ventilation. Do you know if white russian, which is half ak47 is as stinky? I can get by with a little smell, but nothing like some of the dead rat odors, you get off some of the strains
Maybe when I have a little more time (read as: less lazy) I will build that homemade carbon scrubber and will get to grow the ak47!
Yeah ak's stinky! It's the riskiest smelling plant in my collection right now. That's why it's on the short list of clones to drop from the collection. We've got 3 more beans from our pack of 10 serious ak (ordered through seedsdirect).
We haven't grown the White Russian. But it wouldn't suprise me if at least 30-50% of the F1 Russians would smell very much like the ak.
Maestro, all i can say is WOW.
I have never had the pleasure to smoke some AK47,
man i have to get me some seeds. DO you think
the ak48 from nirvana, can compare ?
I can't afford the SS version, even if it is avail or not
Our feeding regimen goes like: Mexican bat guano for veg, and jamaican bat guano for flower. We still use some additives, like Thrive Alive's B-1, and epsom salts.
The epsom salts are used at a rate of 1 tsp/ 5 gallon of water for flowering, and maybe 1/2 a tsp/ 5 gallon for flower. The only time the plants don't get epsom salts in their water is during the flush. Epsom salts provide trace elements, most noteably magnesium and sulfur.
Do you add the epsom at that rate for all the watering? I rarely add any. I do sometimes if I think there is a deficiency. I know you get great results but that seems like an excess. BOG
Ooopsie! Good thing you mentioned that BOG, I add epsom at 1 tsp/5 gallons, not 1 gallon!!! Fixed that it in the above posts.
We do add epsom to every non flushing feeding, yes. Less for veg. I used to consider epsom only in deficiency times, but found that it doesn't hurt at all to keep em coming.
