my mums a few weeks old in this pic, every 9 months i grow up some new ones to replace the old.

Start in coffee cups of coco just like my clones then into the 750ml as in pic for a month before going into there final 8litre pot.. Cut back weekly and fed daily from main res watered down to 1.6ec.

The new clone/mums im growing up now will be grown in a shallow pot or deep tray so i can get some extra height and maby then keep for 10 to 12months,,

4x 4foot flouros (25% triphospher 75% grolux purples flouro tubes)
Can fit two full size mums and 2x clone trays per veg room or 4 x mums alittle smaller in size.

i suck at keeping mums. i have a very nice area and a good 4 light flouro. i just always end up with too big, scraggly, pain in the ass plants.

i did the bonzai thing when OT1 (thank you) first did his article. it worked great. but again, it just became a pain. i'm VERY lazy when not at work. i had 10 mums.

that is a great pic of the article. i also copied the articles for future reference. i tossed my old computer with tons of grow info in it. duh! thanks guys.

i just take a bunch of clones from the bottom of the plants a couple of days before i flip them into flowering these days. no fuss, no muss. the down side is that i only have a few of my genetics available at a time. i might have to give the bonzai another try. i can think of 12 i'd like to have available as the mood strikes. i hate messing with seeds unless i'm making F2s. the males take up too much precious space!

BonsaiGrower. nice bro. variety is the spice of life. cheers!

Hello,

I have some mothers in a 0.7m² cab (because of a recent house flip, i have to make a new space for my mums...), and i got especially two that i would like to put in flowering soon.

Did you take some precautions before puting a mum in your flowering-room ??

I've never flowered any mothers for the moment, so i prefer ask you to have tips if they are...

I really dont do anything different when I put mothers into flower, but Im others may do it a bit different. I usually just prune off some lower growth, stop the grow nutes, and let her go :D

Nice mom and bud endo, great example :D

Take care

Personally i dont do anything diffrent.. just let them grow out and get nice new growth and recover from any shock if you have taken clones in the last week or so. other than that... maybe a dose of flowering ferts right b4 they are put into flower, a transplant always helps as well.. i would transplant vegg for about 1-2 more weeks then flower. hope that helps. i try and keep new moms all the time if i decide to keep something.... ill take clones from seed, keep the clone as mom, take clones 1-2 times from her. and start a new mom from one of those cuttings. by that time the original mom has branched out quite well and will have some nice tops when flowered. then just start the process over again.

Can you keep the plants even smaller by doing those roots trimmings in a smaller pot and never have to upgrade? Just cut, replace soil, then repeat in 6 months or whatever? Cuase I only need about 10 cuts every 2-3 months... Soon, I will have mothers again and i used to just clone them after about a year...and use that clone as a new mom...

If you only plan on taking a small amount of cuts, and replacing fairly soon, you should be fine with the small pot and some trimming.

Best of luck to you, and thanks to everyone for keeping this thread going with great questions and info :D

Take care and stay safe

yes. i had a couple moms in 16 oz dixie cups and every 6-8 weeks i'd cut the soil down to about a 2x2 inch cube and replant. they never went into shock or anything just had a nice healthy growth spurt. it worked absolutely wonderful for me.
