peace, i agree with mrwags, gotta 600 digi, fired it up, ohmagawd! miniture sun out this bitch, bye bye 3 year old 400er, ur ghost, but wait a minute? day 3, open the hatch to da nursery, WTF i felt like pluto out this bitch, wheres the sun? nuthin just a slight fizzle, and the customer support from the manufact. has been just that also just a fizzle..i'm still in battle mode with them so i won't disclose any names just yet, i'm doin it in the Pac.Rim so the shipping was a killer just to get it here...and now i'm told i have to pay to ship it back to find out if it was a defect or not??? oh yeah i made up with the 400er real quick, to be continued...

well i wish ic ould have.. kinda.. because even if i did.. this problem or other ones would probably just come back.. that and the units are not repairable by ANY MEANS.. the whole inside is one giant piece that is only REPLACEABLE.. it is 85% of the cost.. so i could have repaired all of them lol, but it would have cost me a butt load.. i'm happy with a little over 200 bucks and 8 regular ballasts..

I would have just fed-Exed the thing to the manufacture and got thier diagnosis, then fixed the rest my self.

Well guys this thread has been very interesting to say the least. In my opinion digital ballast are the future BUT not right now. I wanted some so bad when I upgraded months back but the bugs were and are still in the system. They are (the makers) are blaming bulbs,sockets,radios...) but I have read and heard and seen to many storys of bad luck and broken hopes and dreams. Currently I'm on my third X-Box 360. It took the first two to realize in my cabinet I needed the add on fan to keep it cool or else it would fry.? Get my point? The 360 RIGHT NOW is the shit but is quirky as are the digi's. But time will kill the bugs but I currently have no need to be a beta tester for lighting in my garden. But in time you bet your ass I'm gonna switch.

good call mr. wags. very good point with the 360. game systems are notorious for having bugs early on, any time you rush something to the market there will be problems.

you said it frozenguy the magnetic ballast is heavy loud noisy and a space heater. but it works.
