FYI, latimes is a paysite. The crux of the new charge stems from the Firearms enhancement that was added.. Baldwin's lawyers filed legal docs Friday, arguing the firearms enhancement law was not passed by the New Mexico State Legislature until May, 2022 ... 7 months AFTER the incident..

There's an old version of the enhancement law that was in effect at the time of the "Rust" shooting, but that law requires that a firearm be "brandished," and that term is defined as follows ... "displaying or making a firearm known to another person ... with intent to intimidate or injure a person." Under any scenario, Baldwin had no intent to injure.

This was a tragic accident. IMO Baldwing doesn't deserve any jail time. He does bear some responsibility that will end up being monitory. I do think the prosecutor is overreaching.

You can argue as much as you want if Baldwin is guilty or not but you really you are avoiding the real truth which is nothing of this would of happened if guns were regulated in the us like they are here.

I don't think sarcasm covers it.

To me the fact remains that the abundance of firearms (and ease of aquiring them) in the US plays a very large role in the mass shootings there.

From that fact it is a tiny step imo to what happend a the film set. To me the laissez faire attitude concerning firearms is a root cause.

Even if guns were 100% banned this incident would still have happened. This accident has nothing to do with firearm regulation. Mass shootings happen because of the mental stability of people and easy access to buying firearms.

All other crimes where guns are used will never be fixed in this country.

His lawyer will introduce the possibility of a deliberate attempt at sabotage, a sabateur who filed a complaint and then tried to prove a point.
