AK48 600w organic soil

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping in . I hope this pictures are up to par, this forum is really impressive . Anyway, these are my 6 ak48 girls at day 28 of flowering under a 600w digital hps in ffof soil. Let me know what you think, this is my first indoor grow and it's been quite a learning experience. I'll be updating this thread right up until harvest so we'll see how things turn out... peace

did u have any trouble with this strain. I popped 6 seeds a while back, only got 2 females, and they were crappy phenos and went to seed in the last 2 weeks of flower. Not very good genetics if u ask me. I have 4 more Im about to plant in the hopes I get the good pheno of the bunch and turn her into a Mom. I am very curious what u have to say...Supposedly, this is a great strain!!!!???

Good growing Dr. Snow! What is the area of your grow? I had two 600 watters over a 4x5ft table with 6 ak47 last time. Next time I will be using a 4x8ft DWC scrog.




Unfortunately I only had one HPS and the other was MH, which wasn't as good. I love the 600w HPS. It produced big, dense buds that yielded quite nice Here is one plant:

- Zeus I had no problems whatsoever with this strain aside from a hermaphrodite (see picture) that I'm picking male preflowers off of twice a week . But, I think that the hermie was caused by heat stress and not genetics so I wouldn't blame Nirvana. There are three phenotypes that I got out of 18 seeds which you probably wouldn't get from serious seeds (probably more stable genetics) however, I can't complain because I only paid $15 for the seeds . Right now I would definently recommend AK48 for ease of grow and quality of bud but I want to wait til harvest to give my final approval.

-Whatsup toker, this is my first indoor grow, however over the summer I learned alot doing an outdoor grow. My avatar is actually a charcoal drawing by Milton Caniff of the Dragon Lady from the comic strip
Terry and the Pirates. It's a unique piece of art and it's somewhat of an inside joke on anyone who would recognize it from the original...

The area of my grow is a 4' by 8 closet' and right now I utilize a foot print of about 3.5' by 3.5'. In the future this will be much much expanded...

Nice Ak48 Dr. and BigCloset!

I really like it, my fav from nirvana.

Got 6 females out of 10 and all of them were pretty similar.

Very nice plant, easy to grow and fast!

I've tried 2 phenos Ak47 from serious, and none of them were as good as Ak48.




You can't go wrong !

hey guys i love ak48 too, nice shots in the thread! i had the 'cherry' pheno, it was sativa-dominant and had tons of fruity smelling resin...i do remember that i had some problems here and there with hermie nanners on the plant but it didn't end up being too bad and the smoke really would blow me away which is saying something...

There's not much new to show in the grow so I decided to post some pictures I altered in photoshop earlier when I was way stoned... And just for the record if I ever edit pictures in photoshop, I will always say so before showing the pictures (like with these). Anyway check these out... they might make interesting wallpapers for windows (as long as you're not paranoid about people seeing marijuana as your desktop background ). The plants are between 3' and 4' tall. The taller, more sativa ones were trained under the light so they wouldn't be taller than 3' but the main stems are at least 4' long. I think the plants would have been taller as I grew them for two months from seed if not for using T5 flouros for veg which made incredible short nodes. They were all around 20-24" when I flowered them so the strech was between 1-1.5'. I'll have so more pictures up soon, the buds are really fattening up...

Update...

Update...

Well, almost 40 days in and it's becoming a real test of patience to let these girls finish without pulling any pieces off but I'm sure it will be worth the wait . Buds look wet with resin and are getting denser every day. Found some interesting phenos in my pack, one pheno is bright bright lime green all the way through, another one has purple running through the entire buds. The smell is so intense I had to get a ozone generator yesterday. The uvonair 3000 is really amazing, I turned it on for twenty minutes in the room I exhaust into and the rankness was complety replaced by the smell of fresh rain . Some new pictures, I can't week for the next 3/4 weeks to go by...

just try not to stay in a room too long that you used an ozone generator in, bad for your health to breathe too much in. im sure you knew that though. your plants are lookin great

Nice plants. I wouldn't so much call that clone a mutant. Either it was taken in flower or real close so you have the 3 fingered leaves. It'll grow back out of it.

Thanks to everyone for the advice with uvonair... when I bought it my local hydroshop guru gave me like a twenty minute lecture on safety and not poisoning myself, going blind, or taking the flavor out of my herbs so I feel adequately prepared to handle the Power Of The Ozone. I only run it 3 times a day for 15 minutes in my attic so I feel pretty safe. Anyway, I'm at day 48 flowering on these girls and I have some new pics but they're not the best... oh well, I'll post some anyway...

New Pictures DAY 47!

First some cola shots...




this pheno's probably my favorite so far (picture below) it has a strong almost grape smell to it and the buds a smaller than the other plants but are so gooey with resin it makes my mouth water. Also pink hues run throughout the buds...












this is the heaviest yeilding plant... so many thick 6-8" buds and a pretty large 12" cola too


This is the purple pheno, has huge fat purple nugs, really fluffly and enormous calyxes...



I'll try to get a better closeup of these buds, the pictures where taken with a flash under a flouro light so the colors are kindof washed out.
Here's a view of the whole plant, again not the best but you get the idea of the structure of the plant.


That's it for now! All these pics were taken in my tub during the final flush, a few amber trichs are starting to show and most trichs are milky/turning milky so I should be right on schedule for a harvest at day 60. I'll keep this post updated... Can't wait to do a smoke report!
