This Is My First Time Growing.

I germinated all these seeds around August 10, after their tails were a few inches long I planted them into Wall Mart soil with mixed in perlite in six inch pots. I gave them a low dose of superthrive 2 weeks after they were in soil. I have since fed them about 4 total dosages of Pure Blend Grow per the label. They have been raised under floros that were 1 to 2 inches above the top of the canopy. Now, after 3months of 24/0 the plants height range from 4 inches to 9 inches. Most of the plants have 3-5 sets of green leaves. The rest of the leaves have turned yellow then died. The stems and leaf veins are pretty purple. In the less healthy plants the roots have yet to be seen from the pots. In the healthy more vigourous plant the roots are coming out and I am going to transplant those into 5 gal w/ new soil.

Should I transplant a 6in plant that had been vegging for 3 months yet still has no roots coming out from bottom of pot

Do Y'all think it is cost and time effective to transplant a 6 inch 3 month old with a considerable root system? Or will the yield be hurt so bad that I should just germ some more seeds and hope I get it right the 2nd time.

Sorry about no pictures
Any help is appreciated

*Not totally organic b/c of PB

Hello cannabinoid man,

I appreciate your comment on my plant selection.
I do realize that pictures of my 40 dwarf two month old six inch plants would help you and others to diagnose my problem. I'm sorry but right now I don't have acess to a camera.
Have you ever experienced something like this or do you know what might be ailing my plants?

UPDATE: After transplanting the plants I noticed that the roots had formed around the perlite that was at the bottom two inches of each pot. Do Y'all think that the perlite in the bottom of the pots would only allow the plants to grow to nine inches tall in a six inch pot?

Any Other Comments Would Be Appreciated

Hello Dr. D,

Thank you for your reply.
The temperatures range from 68-83.
They were veggin under six 48 inch long dual bulb 80 watt recepticles. Basically each plant was in the middle of the two bulb.
First 2-3 weeks of veg plants were watered one time every 1.5 days. After that the frequency was reduced and now I usually water every 2-3 days.

I first thought this was a Nitrogen Def so I made a tea as per manufactures measurements but this did little to help my problem. The leaves never stopped being yellow.

If you need any other information, ask.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving day
Enjoy your weekend, I'm going fishing.

that's a real bummer brother \=

i dont think it has anything to do with temp although you want to keep it in the 72-78* range, sometimes a little warmer even..

Your plants have been in 6" pots for 3 months? the root system has nowhere to go!! i bet if you put them into 5 gal pots and just hit it into 12/12 you would see a considerable growth increase.

Your root ball is probably eating itself and suffocating!!!

It could also just be a set of immature seeds that you got. Try transplanting into a 5 gal, if that doesnt help, then just chalk one up to bad karma and give it another whirl!

Rick sounds like a classic Nitrogen defficency (purple stem, yellow leaves startin from bottom up) The reason your tea may of not help, is the plants may have been locking out all nutes because of the high PH. Try given them another dose, about once a week, and see how they recover.

Hi the-danimal,
I did not like the idea of putting my small plants into 5 gal containers, considering the size of the plants versus the size the container takes up under the light. However, after transplanting selected plants into the 5 gallon containers with FF Ocean Forest Soil, I am starting to see some nice green lush plants that are coming along nicely. =)
Thanks for the advice

Hi Bartender187,
Could you tell me how you mix your guano teas or maybe point me to a link?

I noticed we are in the same part of town so maybe you could advise me on my water situation. My tap water PH is alkaline to the point it's off the chart (8.5 ish) and I use GH PH down to control PH. Do you prepare your water in any other ways before it is given to your plants?

To tell you the truth. I just boil some water, and eye out what i think is right. I then just mix in the guano into the tea, and let the mixture sit till its around room temperature. I then stir it up again, ph adjust it, and feed it to my plants. PH it to around a 6.5 ph. Take note that its better to be conservative and slowly up the dosage then riskin overferting them.
