so for 600s the super sun 2 is the best deal...and for 1000s the XXXLs?

is that the general verdict..dont feel like browsing all 50 pages lol..

so its cheaper to air cool im assuming with vortex fan? then it is to have ac?

my room is sealed and i removed the glass and 1k mh super blue and im mid 70s

i read removing glass is more lumes. so in my case is it still better to use vortex fan or no glass and ac in sealed room as needed

interesting, but it's not air cooled so it has a big advantage.... I'd rather air cool than run more a/c.

Oh yeah, thats the AN guy, so....

here is a link to a company that tested a bunch of high end reflectors, and the winner is........

I dont buy into Big Mikes 'results'. Wheres the proof? That Bell Hood looks so archaic. I highly doubt he's telling the truth. P.L. Lighting has been around since 1967, so I would imagine they've already tried simple designs like that long ago and realized they are crap.

I'll test out the P.L. Lighting Maxima reflector soon enough. Im still looking around for the best prices on them, but once I do Ill post results.

Im looking to get a new hood, I have been using the Hydrofarm Radiant 6....Seems pretty nice, but I do think there are hot spots....Wondering if I should get the XXXL or the Blockbuster or the Great White, which is similar to the XXXl.....Im leaning towards the Blockbuster for a nice 4x4 pattern...But I would love to hear more info regarding these compared to the Radiant....

Whatch'yall think?

Ive searched high and low for info, and google keeps bringing me back to this thread, and a couple others that didn't catch on or have a lack of info.....I dont want to be a dick head and start a new thread with this one being used already...So hit me up with your opinions... Thanks.

so three 600s using SS2s will cover more area than two 1000s under the XXXLs?

are the super sun 2s still the reigning champ after 40 additional pages of debate...it seems the convo has shifted to XXXLs and air cooling vs watercooling..

Good info. Looks like a Blockbuster or xxxl depending on how much space you want to cover... I think the xxxl could deliver more yield as it spreads the light out more evenly instead of using more intense light to penetrate the canopy, which is less efficient. But, sometime we have limited areas, and I'd go blockbuster for max yields per square foot, and xxxl for max yields per watt.

But looking at the pictures @ 30 cm (=1') for nice even spread I think I would stil go with super sun 2...
I wouldn't have my lights @ 1 meter for sure!!!
Gotta love it when A grow shop offers you this kind of data. I think they might of done the test them self!

Check out the airpot comparison!

EDIT:
Oh, shit, notice that the colors in the pictures aren't comparable
When you look at the numbers and the multiplier on the top they are totally different on all pictures
Thats stupid...

This is a very nice thread and I read all of Pico's posts and I can't find any Bell Lighting tests. I see where he says it's on the way and then he says it looks like crap. To be honest, I don't really care how it looks. I have one of these Bell reflectors but I need to buy 9 more reflectors but I don't know if I want to go with the Bell or the Super Sun 2. Has anyone tested these so I can see the results?

I did a test with a bell and a 1000watt

I've grown with 3 600s over a 4x8 table with super sun 2s and always just got around a 1/2 lb more than with 2 on a mover but am giving the XXXL8s a shot with 2 1000s on a table I'll let ya all know where it ends up at same strain same nutes just different lights
