air cooled lights

i'm starting my first indoor grow and i have a cool sun 8" air cooled reflector going into a 80"h by 48"w by 33"l grow cab my question is that should suck the hot air out or suck the cool air in the light?if its relevant i'm using an 8" Can Max.

I'd push through the light..

for a few reasons.

Max fan is plastic and while it most likely can handle the heat..why pull hot air into it when you dont have to.

also, if your going to be pulling through a scrubber before the reflector you dont want to be pulling stink into your reflector (bypassing the scrubber)

I'd suggest pulling air through a filter (if needed) and then PUSHING through everything else.

hope that helps

:yeahthats.. also when blowing the warm air out make sure the warm air go's out the oppisite end from the bulb, you don't want hot air passing the wires could burn them.
just a thought..

If it were me, I would duct from outside the cab directly to the light, and then duct to a small fan (I keep a 400cmh + 150hps cool in a tube with a 6" inline duct booster) and out the cab. This will keep the air that cools the light separate from the smells in the cab.
Use the 8" at another exhaust port. Scrubber should be the first thing, then ducted to the 8" and out.
Never push any air if you can help it. Unless the cab is spot-on, pushing air can potentially be a security problem, as well as being less efficient.

haha great analogy.. but yea I would also support the idea of blowing through the reflector rather than sucking.. Unless you plan on blowing through your carbon filter instead of pulling which I dont recommend..

Also the coolsun doesnt seal the best so it would be hard not to suck extra smell out of the room..

thanks for the input it seems to me that i should blow the cool air over my light but i now i will need a another fan to de-humidify the room so i wondering a 4 inch can fan would be enough or should i go up to the 6?
