Ahmar F1 : 60s Panama Red x Chefchaouen 'Sativa' Hashplant

Can't believe I am lucky enough to post my own pics to this thread. The man VG has granted me the privilege of a little test run with the Red Bubba (Ahmar x Bubba). These seedlings are 8 days above the soil. Have one possible runt, and the rest are very vigorous, very identical seedlings: long first leaf, and short internode distance to second set of leaves.

Nice @Redrum92 i'm planning on pollinating my bubba with Ahmar pollen too. Good luck with the grow.

looks like nice hashplant. it reminds me panamadeepchunk from CBG. so that marrocan variety it is some paki genetics brought there? as I know they brought it there back in the days...

"Previously, the most frequent names given to the Kif were Naanaa (mint) and Aachba (stem, stalk). Some of the hybrids that are now cultivated in the Rif have names that stress their foreign origins: this is the case of the Gaouriya (European in Moroccan slang) and the Romiya (from Romans, the foreigner). A so-called Pakistani variety is called Pakistana, and there is also mention of the Jamaicana, the Mexicana, the marijuana, the Avocat (avocado), and the Hajala (the widow: a feminized variety)."

hi folks, i have a few F2s here myself, just going into flower.
These are from the seed mother Purp4 (whilst @island_organics is growing F2s from Red5 seed mum)
These were the result of a small germination test (3/4) and, familiar story, i didn't really have room for them so they got a little compromised... after a decent repot they have picked up nicely but have been pruned and generally neglected before that. Not quite sexed yet but they should tell me very soon.

Plant 2. Both 2 and 3 are showing the deep, sharp leaf serrations that some of @island_organics plants are showing.. but it will be hard to make too many comparisons as the environments/space will be so different.

Thanks to a generous and talented individual I was lucky enough to try an isolated cultivar from this unique line, the bag appeal was very inviting, resin in abundance and a pungent almost sweet odour coming from the bagged flower.

Not what I was expecting at all, zero citrus but a recognised musk under the sweet smell almost fruity.

The taste was mild but very much like purple punch, tasting like anthocyanin...this was followed by a very relaxing but not devastating, superbly balanced high. Providing much needed relief for body and mind, the eyes totally relieved of pressure. Not necessarily sleepy weed but a few tokes before bed provided the best night's sleep for a while, having been suffering with sleep disturbing chronic pain this was a refreshing welcome to some normality.

Finishing the joint the next morning, the high provided a great fit for a lazy Sunday type day. No detrimental effects were noted, just a nice relaxing high with zero paranoid feelings some report from cannabis consumption.

This plant truly has a medicinal value and great potential for development with outcrossing, I'd imagine a combination with bubba would be great pain meds.

I would like to thank @VerdantGreen for the opportunity to try this novel genotype, I very much enjoyed the effects and the old school taste and vibes.

Started my own thread for this run, just because i like to be thorough with pics and descriptions, and i don't want to clog up this lovely original thread. I'll be posting highlights here too, though, especially once in later flower.

Hi all, my 3 F2s were all male ! - shame but that is the risk when you only have a few plants.. 1 in 8 chance of getting all male or female from 3 plants (if you call it a 50/50 chance for each plant) that goes to 1 in 16 for 4 plants, 1 in 32 for 5 plants etc. Luckily these were only going to be a sideshow to @island_organics test grow, and i'm glad he had better luck with the ratios.
Here are some 'farewell' pics. Nice looking plants.

in other news i have the 3 F1 girls from the second round just a week into flower from clone, so will get some snaps of them. Not really properly evaluated the buds from the first round yet but plant 7 is an early possible winner.

We had some big storms over the last couple of weekends so i had to drag all the plants under cover just in case there was a hailstorm so getting pics wasn’t possible. Thankfully the plants weren’t damaged by the high winds and heavy rains so all is good here. Everything is in bloom now and looking beautiful.
All three phenotypes are very fast in flowering and look like they’ll finish early next month. The Panama red phenotype is interesting in that she has barely any aroma yet, but she’s only just started producing visible resin so i think she’ll start to stink pretty soon. The other two have similar aromas of tropical fruits and a little gas, with one being a bit sweeter than her sister.
All three plants have a couple of lower branches pollinated with a mix from the two Ahmar males i had, and i have rooted cutting’s from the three females in case any of them are special enough to backcross to.

Wow, those are healthy from head to toe. 10/10.

Hard to tell- any purples or pinks coming out, or mostly green phenos from the f2s?

Wow is the word! - they are absolutely rocking !
wonderful to see plants expressing themselves so beautifully having come from seeds made in a small cabinet . Interesting that the PR pheno is catching up with its flowing response too.

I found that the colours seemed to come fairly late when temps were more normal and stable... whereas they appeared with the resin in colder/more humid conditions.

Interesting. I wonder if the Bubba will bring that out even more, considering they both have potential for many colors

No colours at the moment but it is still in the mid eighties here and it’ll probably be still very mild at harvest time so they may stay green throughout. I’d have to run their clones during winter to see if they’ll purple up.

Indeed @VerdantGreen very impressive genetics. Despite being started a month after the rest of the garden and flowering later they’ve not only caught up but taken the lead by a fairly large margin. I think the Chefchaouen is very evident in the fast flowering traits that I’m seeing. I can see these finishing by early October here

Here are a few pics of F1 plants 7,8 and 9 which were the 3 girls from the second germination of the original seeds. This is their second round, and i'm only just starting to smoke some of the buds from the first flowering (i need to sort out which ones have seeds in them so i can't just grab a bud and grind it.. kids back to school tomorrow so i can have a proper look and sort them. plant 7 is one that's caught my attention so far)
after i run these for the second time i'll decide which are the best.

yes that's pretty fast! - and they got to a very decent size too.
Super fast for my spot. I rarely see full maturity in late September/ early October regardless of the genetics so this specific Ahmar #2 is unique in that respect. She’s covered in very dense, resinous buds and nearly six feet tall after about twelve weeks of growth which is pretty impressive in my experience. Also her aromas have really intensified in the last few days, and she’s the one that i smell as soon as i open the front door in the morning. If i wasn’t growing cannabis i’d think i had a gas leak. There’s also a heavy tropical fruit funk coming off this plant that permeates the air. She took over two weeks to root a cutting while her sisters had roots in seven days so she’s definitely standing out at the moment, but until i can smoke her i don’t know how good she might be. Fingers crossed!
