TORC, what was wrong with his genetics? Bear in mind, I never bought seeds from him, but as far as I could see on the forum, there was nothing wrong with what he was providing.

he is a firm believer in capitalism and often said 'nothing is free', so it was a bit much to expect people to believe that his 'generous donations to africa' were anything more than payment for services rendered to his associates that happened to be located in malawi.
I think the whole thing has rather worked in his favour, myself, certainly it's shown a few icmag users in their true colours
Malawi Jim has now moved on to Dr. Chronic and Cannabean, meanwhile a few "Afrohaters" (if I may borrow a phrase) remain here suggesting that Jim is actually at home crying about being kicked off icmag, and positively weeping over the recent demise of P W Bothe
fact is, given the evident relish that a few folks round here take in bitching about him, I think everybody is happy, especially Jim with all the free publicity that "controversy" provides
I mean there's nothing that quite brings folks together like someone who we all hate, is there? Certainly there is nothing quite like it to bring out the "herd animals" in a community
fact is though, if a few of the folks on icmag could learn how to keep their rag (just how difficult can that be when you have all the time in the world to think about what you're posting?) then this never would have been an issue, and the likes of my wonderful self would not have to think that maybe there are more tossers here than I first guessed
but some of us just love to throw our toys out of the pram at the first opportunity, eh?
More to the point, I think MalJim was totally honest in his appraisal of what he grew - were it not for just how loud some fellas here shout, that would have been more obvious
mmm, and how many pure landraces will be on offer once the Afropips Nigerian, Swazi and Malawi have gone?
think there is the GN Zamal, and talk that ACE will be offering some... and then?
anyhoo, as I see it, if the icmag community made a concerted effort to keep their cool and not be quite so reactive, then the likes of Mischevious Malawi Jim would still be around... and we would all get to enjoy some 100% gen-u-whine controversy now and then
as it happens, I have experience of several of his strains, and they have all been excellent indeed, and do precisely what they say on the tin
may I just conclude with a few barnyard calls, just so as not to feel too out of place:

yes indeed, and I think he actually just spoke his mind regarding his experience of growing other peoples' strains

yeah, feces flinging can be a great bonding experience for primates.
i can't recall a single instance of coarse language or even a direct insult from afropips towards anyone. the same cannot be said for many 'respectable' individuals here.

Satghost...you must have missed when your buddy ngakpa/afro was busy slinging shit at other reputable breeders. If you didn't see the direct insults to others, it was because you weren't looking.
