Advice on LST flower...stressful??

I am currently growing Nirvana Power Plant as my second grow...my 3 plants (confirmed females) have been on 12/12 for 7 days now, and they are getting tall as hell. I have purchased some more Fox Farms Soil, but I won't have it for a week. Currently, my plants are in 10in pots, soon to be 5 gallon buckets after I get more soil (1 week)

I am running out of space for these beautiful plants, and I only have experience LSTing during vegetative growth. I am worried that I will cause stress which will lead to hermification of my plants...I plan on LSTing 3 days after I transplant into the 5 gal containers, so it will take about 10 more days until this actually happens...is it a good idea to go ahead and LST at this point?

Also, I wonder if a 1.5 cubic foot bag of fox farms will fill up 3 five gallon buckets, taking into account the 1 gallon containers that they are in now...

I also wonder if my yeilds will suffer due to LSTing during the 17th or so day of flowering...does anybody have experience with late LST?

Any insight?

Well, I'll tell you that 1.5 (cubic feet) = 11.2207792 US gallons to start you off, and I wouldn't worry about LST'ing the plants, it is afterall called "Low Stress Training".

you should be just fine just be careful when pulling the top and side branchs over pull until ya feel resistance then secure. you can adjust little each day until desired effect is reached. if your unsure on proper LST in my gallery you'll find a tutorial from OG its big_budda's lst tutorial very easy to understand

LST doesn't really stress the plants very much unless you pull the stems to near breaking point. However, transplating during flowering does put the plant under a lot of stress. I've never done it myself so maybe a more experienced grower will be able to tell you if it's a good idea or if the plants would be better left in their smaller pots.

Here are a couple of pics to give you guys an idea of Power Plants growth...

I vegged for 23 days, and today is day 7 of flower. Total is 30 days of growth. The tallest plant is almost 2 feet tall already...

Goddang 420 you must really know your mixes, thats a hell a fast growth there! Damn!

nice job.
heres acouple old pics, i topped and then LST'd the shoots, worked really well. But had too be done at an earlyer stage than your at now if that was your plan.

you can see tha yarn on the backside of the bucket holding the shoots outward.

makes a nice canopy. but you gotta get rid of all the lil sucker shoots down inside, they just ro the plant of usable energy and will end up fluffy popcorn.

hope that helped a bit , and thats just one way of LSTing ,theres lots of variations

peace my friend

hey 420 maybe your next grow LST at around 2-3 wks of age heres 2 i pulled the tops over at about 2.5wks old

the younger you LST the lower profile your plant will have in the long run notice how low my main stems are. ive only pulled the tops over for now will the side growth soon as it gets taller. i like to combine FIM with LST FIM is done by holding the very top new growth coming out cut all but the bottom 10% of the leaf. FIM allows the plant to retain a single cola but will force 3-8 new growth shoots for a potentional 3-8 new big top nugs the OG tutorial on FIM in my gallery also

i continue to lst all through flowering to maintain a even canopy...dont get to close to the snapping point your plants willl be fine...cannabis is a hardy plant, even if you crease a stem they can survive...ever heard of supercropping?

Hmm I think I wanna cut off some of the lower branches... I'm about 2 weeks into flower. What do you guys think? I want to get rid of the very bottom layer on each plant. Here's pics...

So, um, I've probably missed it again, but what do the letters L S &T stand for. I gather that its about training, or tieing, to an even height. I'm just really struggling with what it stands for! Haha!
-You crazy growers and your crazy words of wisdom! I love ya'z!

LOW STRESS TRAINING =lst...I always use this method as it shocks the plant way less than topping...also when you pull the tops down the side braches get more auxins and grow bigger...I've used this method half way through flowering , just be carefull not to snap the stem.I also twist the branches that get to tall so the grow more out....think thats like super cropping....could be wrong....just be gentle and take your time....best of luck and stay safe

iIforgot to ad this.

iIforgot to ad this.

ahh, thx! I have used the method (read in a "Cannabis Culture" article). It was good for keeping the top from getting tooo hot in stretchy grows. I have space/height issues in the garden so mabye, with continued advice, i'll get more effecient in doing it. And can the training be hstarted in vegg, or is it best once flowering and the flower time stretch starts?
Peace

HST= high stress training.....which is a form of FIM, topping, and supercropping

i like the idea of topping or FIM'ing and doing lst like bonzo was saying.

here's a little example of my 17 day old skunks and kodiak golds after they were topped and FIM'd around day 12-13 of veg.

here's what a topped plant looks like

here's a FIM'd plant

i had little to no growth between the nodes until i topped and FIM'd, as you can see 4-5 days later all the side brances that started filling out....verticle growth will stop for a few days and be concentrated on bushing out and growing more shoots.

Great news! I always thought that topping or FIMming that soon would ereally stunt bud formation and nice size. But , like i said, iI'm in a crawlspace (5 ft. from dirt to ceiling, minus a foot for the light at its highest setting).
I've got 5 Kali Mist seedlings and 10 NL (female) clones in their first week of rooting. i'll put the advise to work a bit earlier this 'round. Thx again!
