Glad to see some Ace genetics pop up there! Thanks for the links.

...may have another place where ace genetics are possibly discussed...
over at the amsterdam coffeeshop directory forum
where a strain purchased at boerejongens centre (formerly stix) coffeeshop
called "kali oriental kush" was given this description...

"Kali Oriental Kush - allegedly their own Oriental Kush crossed over with Kali Mist.
Long resinous almost hazy wispy structured buds, sweet and pungent tropical fruits and vague cedar (critical mist esque) notes.
Nice stinky and full of flavor at 10 per gram it's a steal as far as coffeeshops go."

It was all sounding good till you mentioned it smelling like critical !!
firstly, it wasn't me creating the description. i was just the messenger. :tiphat:
...and they mentioned "critical mist", not straight critical.

secondly, the "critical mist" strain is going to have, depending on pheno, elements of kali mist in its aroma/flavor...

finally, it really would be interesting to know if they're actually using kali china. :)

cheers

It's just nice to see Ace getting some well deserved exposure. The cream rises to the top. Here in the states there is a lot of crap weed being hyped as the latest greatest. Two years ago it was still the same stuff under a different name. In time as the laws for home growing become grower friendly. I suspect their will be several shops pop up where the finer cannabis's will be available for people with a refined palate who appreciate quality. Peace

Claude Hopper, Borderliner. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. As soon as I posted my thoughts. I thought you may have just opened a can of worms there farmer. Sadly with the way North Dakota is implementing Measure #5. The people of ND will be only getting the fastest flowering shit the growers could get their hands on. As much as I would like to change that. I don't have $100,000 for a license to grow or a half million laying around for a huge greenhouse with a blackout system. I do plan on sending the State the chemical analysis's from Ace genetics that dubi has so kindly made available on this site. Here compare these with the crap your selling as medical grade cannabis. This is what you could have had with an open mind.
Ok my blood pressure feels like it's spiking. I'm going to have an ice cold Moose Drool brown ale and a trip to the greenhouse. Ahhh ! feeling better already. Peace

you guys are about in the same boat we're in- also lying at a higher latitude.
oregon's mostly between the 42nd and 46th N.lat.
washington state's between the 46th and 49th.
west coast canada's 49th and up.
there's going to be limitations on what we can commercially grow outdoors- especially sativas.
some early phenos of the upcoming Nepal Jam x Orient Express may work up here, but will those phenos have sativa energy/clarity?
we may be all disadvantaged, sativa-wise, until the cost of indoor lighted heated (esp. in N.dakota i imagine) commercial growing comes down.

it'll be interesting to see when/if across-state-border distribution becomes legal,
so california can grow those long-flowering sativas, and the north can focus on indicas.

i think bangi haze may be the most electric ACE strain that'll work outdoors the furthest north.

LowFalutin, I don't mean to sound angry about our medical program but the point is I am. My State has gone to great lengths to sabotage or cripple a very well written measure. I'm also pissed that what it costs to be a part of it is far out of my reach alone. There could be some good genetics that find their way here I'm sure. From what I've seen none or few of the large scale growers for Medical cannabis can see past the fastest returns on investment. I see a program that might be a month longer on fiscal returns but have a higher initial return with quality and quantity. Then cloning takes over and you have a cycle the same as all the Indica grows. Yet your yields could be higher and the cannabinoids in sativa's is largely untapped. This country was formed by the free market. Now we have an opportunity for lower and middle class citizens to shine. While our legislators hide in fear of the dreaded word marijuana. Yes I'm envious of other states. Many people will always be fine with smoking crap. There is a reason Bud Light and McDonalds are huge. I know I can be a difference in my state. It's just frustrating when people that know nothing about cannabis are in charge of writing the laws.
Ok I'm done venting for a while.
Deepwaterdude, It can be -20f at the end Of October for sure. ND. Isn't the ideal place for outdoor growing at all. I feel any scale indoor grow limits the expression of phenotypes greatly. Until this season all of my growing other than a handful of plants has been indoors. I look back at previous years of growing and the plants look lifeless almost. From what I have experienced so far this season is amazing. If .... sorry brother. I'm fired up and was ready to go on another rant about my frustrating state. I'm going to have a beer and sit out in the greenhouse and be thankful for what I have. Opportunity Peace

In my youth I spent a year in ND & SD working on the RR, my hats off to you for dealing with the extremes you get in weather. The first thing I though when I saw you building that GH was what will you do during the dog days of summer. You've been really doing well.

I had near perfect conditions at my farm in SE Iowa. Rich deep soil, a long hot growing season and generally ample moisture. I had a few budworms, but not much else to complain about. Bangi Haze and Kali China for outdoors would be at the top of my list there of the Ace varieties I have tried.

Hi LowFalutin,

Thanks for pointing out to the ACE Seeds' strains reports at Leafly.
We received Leafly request to join their website and we submitted our registration process a few weeks ago so we can upload all our strains to their strain database, but we have no news from them so far, not very efficient on their side to be honest.

Farmerlion, as a general rule of thumb it doesn't matter what medical state you are in, all of the local dispensaries will generally carry only high yielding fast flowering hybrids. Where I live I have yet to see a pure blooded 100% sativa in a dispensary and I have been going to them for close to half a decade now. Basically if you want a good long flowering sativa you either need to grow it yourself or know somebody who does. You just don't see 18 week pure tropical sativa bud on the market, period. It doesn't matter where you are outside of actually living in the tropics.

Having said this there are some very good short flowering alternatives to the crazy long flowering equatorial narrow leafs which I think do have a potential to eventually find their way into the dispensary market since they flower fast enough to grow along side the typical commercial hybrids. Often they are based off of Mexican highland genetics. If you are in a state that will eventually let you grow yourself then you are in the right place to find real sativa seeds. Ace and some of their affiliated breeders are some of the best I have seen in the business when it comes to working land race sativa lines.
