I’m looking for a sativa strain that would be able to finish in 43N that has a real potent sativa high. From reading a bunch of peoples posts I’ve narrowed my search down to zamaldelica and Malawi. I would get them in feminized seeds because it’s just easier for me. Does anyone have any experience growing these strains in similar climates or have any other suggestions for what I’m looking for from ace seeds.

Thanks

I'm watching this thread , I'm at 40 N in New Jersey with the same wet humid shit. Back in the day I grew a Durban piosion from SSSC ( South African DP 34 ) .It probably wasn't a pure Sativa but it had the high and packed a punch. Although zamaldelica and Malawi might just make it before late October -November the problem is the sun is so low for it to really metrure good. What the DP 34 had was it was done the second or third week in September. I'm still on a quest for a early Durban like it .This season I'll be running Purple Satellite it's a early pure sativa offered by Ace.I'm also thinking of trying Thaifun Horizon from ApeOrigin it's a early pure Thai ( not Ace ) .Another Ace one you might consider is Green Mountain Grape it almost pure sativa and really early .good luck hunting !
I might just do the cross i did in the 90s. Sensis Durban x early girl. The select the earliest from there.

Unfortunately that line was lost in the early 2000s. A shame.
Not punchy - but high AF. And a dream to grow in adverse climates.

I grew the regs.
I found a Fruity pheno in a pack of Ace Malawi regs that I rank in the Top 5 plants I've ever grown and the Top 5 smokes I've ever had.

I chopped at Day 112 from seed straight to 11/13 and first pre-flowers showed around Day 34-36 (from memory, it was 7 or 8 years ago). A very adaptable plant that tolerated mistakes and was very easy to grow.

The yield was excellent, with big fat colas that had good weight, above average potency and a very pleasant, fruity aroma that greeted you when you opened the jar.

The smoke was gorgeous. Zero harshness, it tasted like it smelled to me. Long, long lasting and extremely pleasant with a smooth and dreamy descent that would kick in around bed time at night.

When smoked during the day and in the evening it induced a deep feeling of contentment and inner peace. No couchlock though, daily activities were fun. I had maybe 2 ounces. I gave some to a friend and the rest lasted me several weeks of every day smoking. Most weed wouldn't have lasted as long in my jar, I had lost the plant and I treated it like the rarity it was.

I have both fem and reg Ace Malawi in my collection. When next time I grow it I will be hoping to find more Fruity phenos to select a mother from, ahead of the Killers, because of that plant, growing it was truly a life changing experience.

Peace

Thanks a lot for your feedback @Old Fogey 🥰 i'm very touched when our seeds make feel cannabis lovers in that way.

If everything goes well, a bit of Fruity Malawi regular stock will be availlable again around Xmas.
The Killers are not so tasty, but also very high yielding, and usually way more potent. Well worth to give them a try too.
