Thanks for the comments blan-k-flor. I've had quite a month and had to scale down my activities. Nothing legal related, but I may be looking for homes to some of these plants. Hate to do it, but got to do what I got to do. I took clones of all my hazes (Tom's, Ace and Rez varieties). May try a stealth run outdoors but would prefer to get these genetics into a stable foster home. I'll update when I got new news.

excellent thread, Ur Humbl Nr8tor.
this one (oldtimers haze) has eluded me. ive always wanted to run it, for, i , too, appreciate a good 'day-time smoke.'
anyways, thanks for taking the time (literally) to grow, and document this so well.

Thanks hubcap. Appreciate being appreciated. Trying to think of a way to pull one or two of these off stealth. Not sure they will make a good run unprotected outdoors here.

Dubi,

As always, thanks for the praise. These plants, I believe could be tamed indoors, even in flower. The re-emergence of the BlowsTrees thread is a testament to that!

I'm not sure how the potency would be indoors as I've only flowered outdoors. I can say that the more time which goes by in the jar, the stronger my old flowering beauties have become. Shimmering and electric, I sometimes catch myself getting a little panicky an hour or more after imbibing...and then I remember I enjoyed this beauty and laugh at the effects.
Her taste is that of citrus, fruit and wood. A real treat compared to so much commercial hybrid these days.

I've moved one of the new girls (from clone) outdoors although the location may not contain her for long. If I can get pictures, I will. Another small clone is still in a plastic cup and has handled dry and hot conditions remarkably well. I just don't know where to put her.

Big thanks for the well wishes with my family. We are going through roller coaster like times. I'm expecting my first child (a boy) in about 5 months. The need for space has curtailed my growing at home, so we will see what the future holds. I certainly have an assortment of OTH seeds from several packs collected.

Unfortunately my Mother in Law has just taken ill and the waiting to see how serious it has become is taking a toll. But, like we must, we will persevere.

Best wishes to you and your loved ones as well.

High U.H.N :)

You are right! Oldtimer's haze needs a good curing (longer than other strains) to achieve peak potency and desirable combustion. I also find her effect sometimes prone to produce weird feelings and panic sensations ... but it just depends on the the psychological background and smoker tolerance. Im glad you apreciate the difference ... oldtimer's haze is jurasic sativa pot compared with most of todays´commercial weed :D

Hope your mother in law is feeling better, take care.

Thanks for the kind words, dubi. My Mother in Law is day to day.

Unfortunately, the Old Timer Hazes I planted outdoors got bushwhacked along with the scrub brush they were hiding under. Looks like someone came through and just mowed them into the piles of brush. Don't think they even realized what they were.

Luckily, I have a full jar of the OTH from the last runs. I will need to ration it as I am intent on saving a joint for the Mayan New Year in 2012. Plenty of seeds remain, so we will see what next year holds. I hope you get some new stock out to those who enjoy this most lovely sativa.

Cheers,

sg87, I have both but I'm thinking purple. I'd really like to run one nice female along with a female Mist of Destruction bx1. I'm still not sure I can get everything sorted out and the greenhouse back up. Hopefully I will have some good news shortly...

Ace Purple Old Timers Haze x Meao Thai.

Both seeds popped in 24 hours!! These will spend at most a week or so at 16/8 and then immediately go outside for a winter grow if all goes according to plan. I'm guessing they will harvest in April once we kick back into 13+ hour days if all goes according to plan.

Like the OTH pure seeds, these are slow germers. They popped quickly, but all of my Mod's are up and peeking at the light while these OTH x MT's tap roots have barely grown. May be another day or so before they have popped up.

Good luck UHN with your next hazy round ;) I think you'll enjoy them a lot ...Knowing you have first hand experience with pure oldtimer's haze. The hybrid is quite similar to pure haze in structure: tall lanky long flowering tropical plants, but purple haze thai has very strong purple haze influence (red purple colors and incensey aromas) and the yield is a bit better and the flowering time usually 2-3 weeks shorter than pure haze.

Dubi,

Many thanks for stopping by. I have both the purple and green versions of this cross, but chose the purple exactly for your reasons stated above. I've tried the green hazes and now want to sample the purple side of the line.

I noticed the seedlings were struggling out of their seed coatings with one having curled it's taproot back into the seed shell. I gently got the shells off and replanted, so we will see if that get's them going. I've noticed that one of the seedlings has purple color to its tap root, so am excited for these colors in the future.

Once I know they are doing well, I will take a seedling picture to show them off...

As it is winter months here, they will basically go into flower light schedule immediately once they go outdoors. I should be able to let them go for the next 20 weeks, so we will see how they do. I'll then know how they grow and decide whether to do a warm weather run next year.

Best Regards,

Well, slowly but surely, the Purple Haze x Thai seedlings are growing. Here is a shot of them on either side of the Mist of Destruction bx started from seed at the same time. Ideal would be 1 female of each with a solid stud male for future poly-hybrid runs.

I wasn't (and still am not) sure this one would/will make it...

It is just now showing true leaves, but that is a good sign because for the first few days, it wouldn't even open up from the cotyledon. This one had a purplish note to its root, so I'm hopeful it survives...

The second is slowly making its way...

These were started in old (12 month +) amended potting soil and it may be a bit too hot for these seeds liking. The Mod's seem to love it, but these haze leaning plants are truly lean feeders.

I will wait a few more days indoors and then start introducing the larger of the two outdoors under the green house canopy. The slower grower may be another few after that, although I think once is starts going, it should pick up the pace quickly. Given the Mod's are also pretty extreme on the sativa side with the Cannastroyer and old Kali genes, I'm expecting all of these plants to be big stretchers straight from seed (more or less) into flowering.

Be well Ace, Canabiogen, MOD and Sativa lovers...

I told you the runt would start catching up...

24 hours later, #1 (runt)

Compared to #2

Looks like I got em both going now. I will start introducing #2 to outdoor conditions tomorrow and #1 a day or two later.
