about them damn flies

whats up all,
I have these tiny flies (black body with transparent wings) because of the moisture in my soil. It seems to be the same type of flies you get when you leave a fruit for a while on the counter, eventually these tiny flies will fly around your house.
Now my question is can someone post images of their life cycle?
thx in advance

They are probably either fungus gnats or white flys. Either way they live in your soil and can mess up your plant if let go to long. I would put down a inch thick of perlite or gravel. Then break up a mosquito dunk into a powder and put in a gallon of water to mix for a while. Then water with that. Should take a week to kill all the babies still being born.

Agree with pirate, sounds just like white flies.....

Nice advice there pirate

Also it's good to have sticky traps or no pest strips to catch the adults, helps cut back even faster with adults laying eggs.

I had a pretty bad fungus gnat infestation last grow, and I used No Pest Strips with sticky traps. Then put potato slices on the soil so they would be drawn to lay their eggs on it. I'm not sure of the differences between fungus gnats and white flies, but this combo got rid of all of them within a week without mosquito dunks......however I've heard mosquito dunks they work great......good luck

everytime I water I see white bugs floating around and then they hide back into the earth but they have no wings and walk pretty fast. I was wondering if those are white flies or fungus gnats. can someone tell me what they are
hopefully not aphids nor simphillids
