Oh yeah. They were both female. They are in the first week of flower now. Next run, if this goes well, will be a half room of each. Clones are vegging out currently. If it's good, at least it's backed up. They are about 34" tall right now - hopefully, Deezy is right and I only see about 18" stretch or it's going to be very close with some height issues.
I've got 5 more packs of ABF seeds to make it through all sharing the same father. I told him I'd do my best to put some flame on the boards. I had to bring my A game though because #nofuckboys allowed.
The Cobalts are shaping up nicely. I raised the lights a couple inches before lights on as the growth was getting a bit too compact. I like some space in between internodes. Crazy rock hard flowers just never seem as potent to me. Some space and gaps between calyxes never offended me. If the plant is worth keeping, all those spaces and gaps just fill in with resin glands instead of plant material.
I feel like it's a rock and a hard place. Like all seed runs, these two will get run again to see what they really perform like. I know they aren't fully mature yet even at this stage because they are just barely starting to truly alternate internodes.
If I had to guess - the more sativa plant is going to be a limey blue dream looking plant and the other is going to have purple/green calyxes on a Cookie/Haze type plant. I've felt this way about them both for some time and that doesn't seem to be changing as they progress in flower.
Thanks for watching! Hope I can keep them out of the lights!!!
I think we'll be okay with height. Super cropped and tallest right now is at 54".
Here's Cobalt #1 at 18 days - I'll post more once they get a bit further along, but frost this early is a good sign. This plant will be coated in resin without question.
ABF Seeds Cobalt Haze #2 at 23 days - stem rub is still more blueberry, resin is more fuel/spicy/hashy at the moment, but that has changed several times already. I image the final form will be a slightly peppery/berry plant. Think a slightly hazier blue dream perhaps.
To give a size perspective, this cola is about 11" under a 315w CMH. Pheno appears to be a hazier blue dream type plant.
Getting frosty in there broski. I know your excited. Super happy for you it’s been to long since we’ve seen some D.F nugg shots not long now. Respect brother.
In all fairness, my temps are running an average of 6-10 degrees to high on any day. Canopy is too tall. Didn't have proper pruning at the right times.
They COULD and will be better, is my point. I'm pleased, but not content. I see grower error everyday I look at them, and I'm ready for this round to hurry up and finish so I can get a round in done right and really show her potential.
I think it's important to be honest and critical of your own garden. It keeps you striving and pushing towards better medicine.
Even when I have a perfect run, I'll think of the one day when I should have watered that I didn't and as a result humidity dropped below 40% and I saw a hint of serration curl on a single leaf.
It's a passion that drives me. I know this to be true of Abja as well. It's why after not having a garden after so many years, some of the very first seeds I started were his.
Point being, I'll be dialing my room in. What I grow WILL get better and I have 5 other seed lines from ABF to put on display when I work through this Cobalt.
Slim Charles or Scarlett Macaw or Siberian Sherbet perhaps will be the next line I explore from ABF Seeds.
Anyone have a preference of what they'd like to see?
I need to get a better camera. This old thing is just barely cutting it. But, same cola, same angle...7 days later. This plant is looking like it could finish in 9wks, actually.
Cobalt #1 @ 41 days. This is what looks like a 12wk+ pheno and has always had a cookie/haze type twist to her. There were some quirky OGKB type traits in early veg which seems to be holding true. I still think she going to turn purple later in flower. She does seem to have micro cookie nug syndrome in the way her calyxes are developing super small and tight, but, they are also tailing rather well and stacking nicely. Not expecting super dense flowers, but plants with a more open haze hybrid flower structure.
Resin is chocolatey/motor oil/doughy. Stem rub is straight vicks. I expect her to mature much more terp wise yet, but this plant will certainly see a second round as well. Her clones have been vegging. She may be the sleeper keeper. She'll be interesting for sure.
I really need a better camera to do these plants justice.
