i agree totally what you said about addiction and everything that comes along.

i just mostly meant that it's crazy to see somebody being able to go over the top like that guy.

and i really dig more looking at your plants than reading about coked-up celebrities anyways!

peace!

...Yup it's about the plants....and I can't complain there. I have 3 ChemDDIX1s and an I-HOP Highend up next for pollination. Sometime in the upcoming week I'll have those done. I think all the plants I have in at this time are going to be rock n roll. Just added 1 Crunge, 1 ChemDDIX1, and 1 Mikado to the flower studio this morning.

...as I update so much... I get bored going on and on about what I'm doing...I like to add a little commentary now and then. Guess Sheen checked himself into rehab though.

Sometimes if I read back on my threads....to check out some detail or another....I find by adding some off the wall subject matter kind of helps bring me back to that time/grow. I honestly can't remember all the plants and grows off the top of my head.

I could give you guys a lot more detail about what I'm doing but it surely would bore you and probably lose most everyone with the different crosses and the specific expressions within. It's exciting to me.....but I wouldn't expect it to be that exciting to y'all.

I'm just happy to have you visiting me in the thread man. I appreciate you taking the time....as I have a lot of respect for your skills/selections. You know that already. Drop in anytime.

My old man used to make me do 10 mile runs while he followed me in his Scout, it didn't do much for our relationship but it did wonders for my endurance....I always took to backcountry skiing, trying to explode your heart and lungs at altitude, smoking a pipe every so often, staying out in the mtns avoiding the old man!!:)

Word. I love running free up mountains...following the drainages...I'm on a good roll breaking through walls...I feel more like an animal rather than an outcast man figure. About as organic as it gets really. If you can...crawl from the sea and bound up a mountain in the same day...wow man....better than most anything is the endorphins. I now want to blend medicinal dose herbal teas (I'll experiment with different types) in my water bottles....I want to expand on the endorphins.

CHACO...you are a gnarly dude...I have that feeling.

I'm not minding this aging thing yet. I'll be 45 on Super Bowl Sunday. I spent a lot of time in the USFS pushing peeps up some godforsaken hills....in some very godforsaken places...in godforsaken conditions....that's how I know about Taos and all the west and 1/2 the east. Fires bro...I followed plumes for many years. Talk about watching peeps find gawd....or lose their breakfast....I live by "puking is acceptable...stopping is not". Some peeps ain't like that though. To me it's the game I play....even to this day.

I used to like staying up for days on coke, pills and whiskey....but now I can't remember why. I kicked alcohol in June....and I wish I'd done that years ago...just quit like that (I loved binges not everyday)...now I'm back to my training and herbs....clean off toxins....so it's like a whole new game up in the hills. I figure I may grow old....so I'm going to keep feeling good as long as I can.

There is sick pleasure running mountains....just brutal stuff...fixes my need to suffer. Being able to function while exhausted/faded/beat to shit....is a test of character...it's almost a totally different reality. The after run...like a narcotic. Free and legal lol...maybe somewhat healthy....it's a selfish endeavor I admit....type A personality shit.

I hear ya on the exhaustion bit... great feeling IMO, many underestimate just how good you feel after working yourself to failure. It feels good, which I know to some that seems odd. Exhaustive workout = feels good? But those that do, know. So many are caught up in exercising to lose weight & all that nonsense, they fail to see how beneficial it can be for the mind & soul, as well as the body.

Just grabbed some BS2.2's... looking forward to digging through those and seeing what comes up. A nice, quality male to hit some of my clones w/would be a welcomed find. I won't turn down a killer smoking female either. :)

For sure. The trick I've found...and one of the most important aspects of distance running...is to be able to get to your mediative state as quickly as possible. You need to shut off the swirl of stuff that is in your head. Let yourself go and the miles/hills start disappearing. Sometimes I can't remember running portions of my route.

The ability to function while you are in pain/agony....to work yourself through periods of self doubt where every hill is a heartbreaking monster....when the temps are high and you can feel yourself melting....legs heavy or rubbery...sweating so deeply that you can smell yourself...when you take a rock wrong into the bottom of your foot....when you are chafed raw in your arm pits...

I never have pre run dread....it's the opposite...I can't wait to start in...drop off the side of....set my mind and go. No one to push me up and down hills....no one to watch over me....all self motivation and isolation. Plot the course and manage the water/energy supply. I have had borderline spiritual experiences....I flush my system of society...I bond with very basic realities. There's the mountain...here's you....do what you need to do.

The effect of endorphins is the most amazing thing. Drugs don't tap into them correctly....meditating in physical exertion/exhaustion blows drug effects out of the water...via organics. Most peeps do drugs for some kind of escape....but eventually find themselves trapped...I've never thought they were a good idea. Not sound at all.

....It's about endorphins....diet plays a key role...the better your physical body is geared to go....the easier the endorphins flow. I'm at a point where my physical body is transforming through the constant repetition of going up and down mountains...it's sort of Darwinism. It's wild to know...even in my mid 40s...I can manipulate my body and mind...I can advance still. I'm competitive at what I do....outside my age group.

Mind set is so key...can't bother with nay sayers. Nay sayers are mostly depressed and boring peeps....afraid of what they may find.

Have fun with the 2.2 dude....outcross.

Stetsons/Santa Ana/Satechism (February subversions)

Stetsons/Santa Ana/Satechism (February subversions)

Dang wind done blowed my lid off....I wonder if John B Stetson had any idea about how nice his hats would work for a final air out of Satechism (tall phenotypes) flowers? These had been in a jar for a few days...burped a few Xs a day....now I'm letting them air out for a few hrs....then back in the jars for the long cure. I'll need my hat back.

Satechism= Casey Jones X Blue Satellite 2.2

I've partially pollinated easily over a hundred plants since I started my breeding projects...almost 5yrs ago...and I still have fuck ups. Chaos tends to ride on the Santa Ana winds we have out here....I can hear him yelling in the winds...bringing changes to the atmosphere...the Ions reverse...after days and days it becomes uncomfortable....though great conditions on the coast.

Power outs...or power flicks so often....it is best just to shut the flower studio down....thingys sit in the dark. Navigating the mother ship takes concentration....things go gunny sack quickly at these times.

I had a brutal pollination session this morning....incrossing I-HOP Highend....removed the pollen from the fridge and put it in my pocket...went out to the garden where the temps were in the low 80s.....still had the pollen vacc sealed in my pocket as I spent 20 minutes smoking a Thunk bone and looking over the plants.

So then snatched up the plant I needed for pollination...and took her to another room...which was in the upper 40s...upon pollinating I realized the pollen was moist like and clumped together (though way dry powder when it was sealed in its container)....as I've had this happen before....the pollen should still be viable...but it wastes a lot of dust and is sloppy to apply. Unprofessional.

I-HOP Highend= Straw Dog F2 X Highend F2

....Pollinated (with much slop) at day 23....she is another stout hooker....only 25 1/4".....after a few days....if the pollen doesn't look like it took...I'll hit her again. I don't know what I'm going to get here...I can't read her too well at this point in the grow.

.....Has anyone seen the bridge?

The Crunge= Karoline Krutch X Prune Juice

Karoline Krutch= AbusiveKushHaze x Sour Bubble X Grape Krush

Prune Juice= Querkle X Grape Krush

The 1st plant of the very 1st batch of The Crunge to go into in flower. Day 14...starting to go..

...." tell you about my good thing....when she walks she walks and when she talks she talks".....

I have a grip of these girls....some in flower some in veg....this one will be hit with ChemDDIX1 pollen. I can not lie to you Pilgrims...I expect a lot from The Crunge.....another piece in the "Affection Pool"....if this cross slouches on me... I'll be damned or at least curious to know why.

....where's that confounded bridge????

The Crunge is indeed a bridge....if all works out....I'll bridge it over to Cleveland Sage. The Cleveland Crunge is being blueprinted in my head. All depends on if I'm on my game and my vision is accurate....must see the plants manifest.

Dirty Sanchez...I know that one...fuckin' gnarly the things peeps dream up. Remember the term "felching"?.. that's another gross out...

Rain here. Started as snow yesterday on top of what we had prior. A lot of ice pac, the rains' doing a great job but the grounds frozen, nowhere to go, if it gets cold it'll be a serious ice rink all around.

I see that bale of coco, I've just been breaking one up. I've used both the 50L Canna & Botanicare bag stuff, and have a couple of plants in the Bota Boss 6x6 blocks, couple months now, and they always drain way darker than the other pots.
This bale looks like the same stuff. I filled up a 5 g bucket w/ drain holes and ran a few gallons of hot water thru to leach salts. Next I'm gonna charge it w/ a few jugs of cal/mag PH adj before I use it.
Being a coco newbie, I'm being very anal. The plants have rarely suffered, but it took a while before my run off readings made any sense, probably took me 4-6 wks to get em all adjusted properly.
Don't suppose you do jack shit there, uh hombre?

I like the compressed coco....it's so easy to transport...and I like how it breaks down.

I take a block....put it in a shallow rubber mate (Wal Mart )....pour over/in about 4.5 gal of RO PH balanced h2o (guesstimate it 5.6-6.0 as I'm pretty accurate)....then add about 1/2 gal of full strength veg mix....kind of a splash here splash there method of blending in the mix.....let the coco soak up the h2o...rises like a cake....then dump it into my trash can (often seen in my pix)....hand mix it in the can until I have it where I want it.

What I've found with coco....always keep at least a little mix of salts in there....1/4 strength or so. I feed new seedlings the very 1st week at 200ppm....and increase a little each feed...feeding every day ideally...that's why I like to start seedlings in very small plastic cups...then at the end of the 2nd wk (or later) I'll up cup into party beer cups...all about feeding and drying out the medium quickly.

Sometimes I go with less saturation....because I like having dry chunks that I crumple up as I need them....the dry chunks are good to blend with the moist stuff for seedling starters.

I never check run off anymore....but I've been in coco for yrs now...and understand what my RO water likes to do as far as PH.

I recycle all coco into my outdoor gardens after one run....though you can use it more than once by flushing out the salts...I find that the texture breaks down into powder and is not as good a medium after that. OD...I can rebuild it with compost, perlite, and various other amendments.....great stuff.

I'm in 40-60mph cold ass winds (not east coast cold but brisk)....temps have not gone over 40 all day....I have some trimming to do....and deciding if I want to try and run my flower studio tonight or let it sit in the dark. It's tough on the ballast/bulbs I think if the lights flicker off and on....when the power flicks with hard wind gusts. This morning it happened 3Xs in an hour.

not an option here not running tonight, will be dropping to 3 overnight, coldest of the winter, hard to believe it will be in the 60's by the weekend again...

O...yup I hear that. I have a portable oil heater in there now....and the exhaust is on timer....so I'm can make it in these temps....3 wouldn't be good though. That's cold. I have my heater set on 4 low...so not sucking too much juice but keeping things in temp range. Those heaters suck major juice if on high...but damn they work well. I hadn't used it in a couple yrs....

Last winter i ran it different to experiment with getting my colors...let her run cold....but not this year...cost me too much yield and extended the flower Xs.

I'll tell you...my quasi defoliation slows me in veg but quickens me in flower. I'm pretty sure.

yup,now that the sun has set it is dropping pretty quick, also the clouds have moved off...no more snow, but gonna be an icy one tonight... my room has already been cold enough to turn my killer queen redux purple ,went back to green when the temps came up,but these last few days have been pretty cool in the flower room, mostly just new racks of clones in there now..

T

THE PABLOS

Just went down over the ridge line here....and the winds are not going to ease up....I'll probably not sleep much tonight....I'll kick the lights on and see how it goes. If the power keeps flicking I'll shut her down.

I admit I miss all the colors I had last winter season....I like getting those blues/purples/maroons/blacks....not that it makes the smoke any better...but for eye appeal.

I started my basement flower room last month w/ no heat. Had the Pakistani x Uzbeki in there, thought they could tough it out, but temps were getting in the low 40's and they clearly were not happy, so i added the heater. Now it stays 78-68 and they're very happy.

In my tent i have a 4 x 4 hydro tray raised, w/ a little elec. "furnace", Pelouis ??, underneath keepin' the roots toasty. Had that thing around maybe 20 yrs. I bought this panel heater last yr, close to a $100, fucker shorted out and died 3 mo in, pissed me off.
I've had one of those oil heaters for yrs too, but it's in my laundry rm/breezeway right now. :D

Talk about short outs...or just shitty equipment....I used a big swamp cooler last summer....seemed so perfect....but that thing just leaks no matter what I do. I took it apart....sealed shitty spot welds....etc...bent and re bent edges etc....$250....works but makes such a mess. I'm kind of stuck with it now.....so I'll modify it some more and see how it goes this summer.
