glad to see ya back..........:woohoo:

ive been in the process of changing my diet as well........no more caffeine, very little sugar not in fruits and veggies.

i cant give up meat but im eating more white meat and fish.

i saw a show on pbs "eat, fast and live healthy" and it confirmed that i still had time to correct my diet to reverse the not so healthy diet.

peace bro

Yeah...created Jericho Mile the day I started kicking sugar. A friend brought me a 1975 book: "Sugar Blues" by William Dufty...I had been telling him that about how bad of a sugar addict I am...how I'd decided to give it up..and the book just confirmed what I already was feeling through my running

and you realize...just how bad refined sugars are for you (even my staple of molasses spoonfuls...even organic maple syrup...even honey...which I know sounds crazy...but I test my urine pH..and all those drop it way into acid)....but anyway...to continue

at the same time I read "Sugar Blues" I was reading "The Opium War 1840-1842" and was not surprised to realize that the sugar trade and the opium trade (much older) have been utilized with the exact same formula...to addict as many people as they can. It's a seriously dirty business....a process. Much of the slave trade...was about sugar.

Ours societies have been strung out on sugar for centuries now...like it's necessary to intake in its refinement...that it's a food. The stuff is in everything...is a definite destroyer of the body...is highly addictive (if you don't believe me...stop using it...read food labels..and feel the withdraw..serious addiction)...blah blah blah....not trying to live forever...just refuse to be made sick by my fellow man and his endeavors to control the herd

I can't really advance my feelings any further...but when you start kicking the procession....walls come down. It's not too late for the individual...but as a mass...the human race is sold out and done. You couldn't explain it to them...they would not believe..or would not want to hear how they themselves are the ones being farmed/processed/sold

* the new Trail Runner magazine has an objective little article on the use of Cannabis and performance on the trails.......geeze...it's becoming a legit conversation. I'm but one...of many thousand runners...who believe in the herb...partake in its ingestion on the trails.

Vaporize on..run on

i like exercising after tokin........i cant wait till i only vape and eat or juice Cannabis b/c then long multi hr pushes will be nice and relaxing.

i find that after the first 1-1.5 mile my body is calm and numb and no longer telling me to stop........i also think it is the best way to relax and recover after long/intense work out.

ill check out that article.

Veggie Hot House

Veggie Hot House

Started indoors...from seed (then brought into the hot house you see here)...non frost tolerants. Tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumber, egg plant, and melon

trick little set up..even bought a greenhouse heater for cold nights (though no need at the moment)..but yeah...my garden season never ends. I'll select the best examples from these populations (gift out the rest) and proceed to get them in the ground around mid June.

* Garlic is looking grand...should be harvesting 100s of bulbs come June

i just sowed some cantaloupe, butternut squash and black beans the other day, need to figure out what im going to do with the basil plants, think i will just bucket them...i did just pick up a few larger smart pots, maybe i should nab a 45 gallon and set that up as the basil farm since im sure i can pull multiple crops this season, should be making some space soon since the first round of broccoli is about spent and the second is going...still have a number of un opened packs of seeds...the main bed will be easy enough to turn into a big cold frame come fall...need to get some clover seed for overwintering the beds...

Glad to see this thread still alive, I was hopin i didnt read through it all for nothing.

I really liked the progression. I commend you for everything you shared/documented for us.

Took me awhile but it was well worth it
I dig your garden & outlook on things.

Read about the changes to your diet, and i agree sugar is a def a devil.

Cut it out and keep it out. i'm a day short of being a month free of processed refined sugar and havent felt better.

Happy to see you again, dude. Props on reclaiming your diet. No question sugar is crammed down our throats in almost every prepared food.

Why they chose a pot leaf showing a nutrient issue for their article...beats me

I through a few nuggets of Prune Juice (Querkle X Grape Krush) on the magazine for some color

Prune Juice is ok...and I did make the 3rd generation..but I'm just not that into indica dominant plants. None of them yielded very well...finishing from late 50's- late 60's (the most Blue plant finished last at 68)....not super potent...not super heady...more a laid back high

Smell is like a burnt berry funk...and they taste just like they smell...made some very nice carmel colored hash (the hash I like better than the flowers)

I didn't take any pix of their finishes...wasn't into them enough even if they were not unappealing to look at...wasn't feeling like taking pix of anything really

Welcome back brother. So glad you threadin again. Love the veggies, love the refusalof sugar, I eat a "paleo" life style and I think it's changed not only my physical being but my emotional being as well.

Since you've been gone my wife and I have had our first baby, a little baby boy names Henry. Changed my life.

Ps the hash gave me a semi

Stoked! My hops plants are ripping the ground up as they come out.I have an out of control mess that I'm going to have to manage soon. This patch grows to fantastic hieghts. It's finally spring and the outdoor gardens are starting to push up.My perrenial poppies are doing real well after such a cold winter.I was afraid they might have croaked. The annuals are all up and ready to fly too.:)I have some garlic and potatoes out there too but my wife manages those so I steer clear!Fine indeed to see you back around.:artist:

May Garlic

May Garlic

Most...but not all of..the Garlic patches. 9 or so varieties (all mapped out in a notebook)

I'm thinking of threading over in the General Gardening sub section...I know Unc has something going on over there...pretty sure I was reading about his voyages over there. So many plants to grow...hell...they'll take over your entire life

But maybe...the General Gardening is the new place to thread..open up a little conversation amongst those who may enter.

* I'll be showing you dudes...some killer manicured RKM F5 here as soon as I can get myself to trim them.

Having 10 tons of DG and 3 tons of 6-10" rock dumped here tomorrow...building a hillside up...constructing a pathway and ever so many more garden opportunities....been working...on and off...on this project since last October. Lots of heavy handed work...hand tools..and back power. No run days here...for the next bunch of digging days

** I want to die like John Henry...a monumental effort...followed by the heart giving out. Beat the machine down

as soon as I am able...I will catch up with you dudes
