Hey IC Mag community,

I think it’s about time I share my experiences with you. I’ve been reading through all kinds of forums for years now and have learned a lot along the way. Growing has sparked my passion for gardening, and I even turned it into my profession.

Over the years, I’ve connected with some amazing people and managed to get my hands on some unique genetics—or at least I think so! A friend of mine hooked me up with some cool seeds through a long chain of connections, and I’m currently testing them out. I believe in supporting stuff like this, which is why I’m writing about it. I hope you enjoy what I share, and that we can learn a lot from each other.

Let me tell you a bit about my setups, which are still evolving:
My first setup is roughly 3 ft x 3 ft, lit with 320 W 3500 K + 660 nm chips. The filter system is nothing fancy. I grow on this space using 9 x 3-gallon containers.
The second setup is about 4 ft x 2 ft and runs on 240 W with 3000 K/5000 K and 660/730 nm chips. I’m currently testing 21 x 1-gallon containers there.

My main goal is to select mother plants for the future. Besides the seeds I was gifted, I also grabbed some affordable seeds from Europe—just to test them out. I’ll share my thoughts on the genetics and start with the ones I’m most hyped about.

Seeds:

Cannabella Genetics:

  • Sour Amnesia Haze (SAH)
  • Road Trip 4 x Moonwalk Haze (RT4 x MW)
  • Sour Lemon Haze x Moonwalk Haze (SLH x MW)
  • Back to Cookies x Moonwalk Haze (BTC x MW)
Greenhouse Seed Company:

  • Jack Herer (JH)
  • Super Lemon Haze (SupLH)
Advanced Seeds:

  • Apple Fritter (AFAS)
  • Forbidden Fruit Cake (FFC)
Monkey Genetics:

  • Tropicana Cookies (TC)
Ripper Seeds:

  • ChemPie (CP)
Seedstockers:

  • OG Kush (OGK)
Dutch Passion:

  • Critical Orange Punch (COP)
Linda Seeds:

  • AK
  • Apple Fritter (AFLS)
  • Bruce Banner (BB)
  • Cheese (CH)
  • Alien OG (AOG)
  • Northern Lights (NL)
  • Cherry Lady (CL)

Clone:

Kalashnikov Seeds:

  • Boys Scout Cookies
A colorful and wild mix! For this project, I’m only using feminized seeds. Some breeders are new to me, while others I’m more familiar with. I’m a big fan of Greenhouse and Cannabella Genetics—maybe because I’m obsessed with Lemon Haze. It all started with Super Lemon Haze, and now I almost always grow Sour Lemon Haze by Cannabella Genetics. When I grind a nug of it, the whole room instantly smells like lemons. My brother comes over from the next room and knows it’s about to go down.

Anyway, I’ll post updates irregularly for now, but once we hit flowering, I’ll keep it more consistent. Of course, I’m open to questions and down for a constructive discussion.

Wishing you all an awesome day—don’t forget to take your meds!

Cheers,
Hortihorse

I hear ya on how growing cannabis can lead to a general gardening addiction! Interested in what you will find, that’s a good variety of genetics.

Will you be flowering in the 1 gal? I’ve wondered how to pheno hunt in smaller spaces.
