A trip to worms way out of state. Safe?

How are the people at worms way? Do you feel safe there? Do they ask nosy questions? Is it a photo shoot in the parking lot? :yoinks:

Has anyone been pulled over leaving a grow shop? This is my biggest fear. I know the cops can pull you over for no reason. I really hope I dont get singled out because of my out of state plates.

I hear they look for out of state plates because those types of people run drugs. But, I wont have anything illegal on me. Still, I dont want to get questioned about my equipment. Has anyone been questioned by the police about their gear? What did they ask? What did you say?

Im not taking my personal vehicle.

I will do my yoga and meditation rituals to chill myself out before I go. I like to go to the shops only once a year and just stock up on things to keep a lower profile. This is always a huge deal for me. I would love to bring some kind of closure to this.

Do they ask your name and address when you checkout? I heard they do a mailing list so I better have one made up.

Can you have them amass your items without an account so you can get in and get out w/ no trails?

Nah man you should be straight as long as you keep everything low key. I wouldn't suggest asking for help, but if you need to DO NOT mention Advanced Hydroponics. Haha I tried that once and got stared at awkwardly until I was told to leave. This is a simple rule everyone should be told early on as to not bring on heat. No, they don't take information and if they ask about a mailing list just politely say no thanks. If you browse the online store and then take a trip there it'll give you a good idea. Obviously no stonerwear and I'd even make a point to be wide-eyed. I had a counter full of goodies all rung up and with that mission accomplished feeling figured I'd ask about some nutrients that I thought were just high grade and sold anywhere. WRONG. Kicked the fuck out. Up until that point though I had kept a lengthy conversation going while a worker showed me the hydro setups, lights, and explained to me the deal with different reflectors. She didn't ask about what I was growing but after too many specific questions I figured I'd drop something so I said I was growing Tomatoes. All in all, if your casual about things, there should be no problems. If there are, tear out that bitch before they can get your plates and have your friend go back for you a week later.

They are pretty much the only nutrient manufacturer that openly supports MJ cultivation with their products.

I dont know if you guys are talking from experience,I kinda doubt it.I used wormsway for years, was a frequent farmer just about every year with all the goodies that entails, wormsway is no.1 in my book. The only reason I dont go there anymore is a friend opened a shop down the street, otherwise I'd still be a "frequent farmer" at WW.The last two poster's,do you have anything to back up what you say about WW?If so I'd like to know about it,I've never heard of anything bad happening when dealing with them.If someone remembers operation green merchent, there were many growshops involved with that,I dont think WW was one of them but if they were,it was long ago.

I love WW...best shop around. Everytime I've been there were knowledgable employees and no they don't take names :) lol They do have the frequent farmer thing ballastman talked about, but that is totally optional. They've got a fully stocked store, helpfull staff, and clean look (it doesn't feel like a hydro store). Personally I wouldn't shop anywhere else.

Timmy...take your friends car and go with clean eyes and non stoner wear and you are golden. If in doubt ask a few questions about their vegetable seed stock selections...pick up a couple heirloom tomato varieties and talk about how you look forward to canning them at the end of the season...or whatever. :)

worm's way and alternativegarden.com have both rolled over on customer orders before...the thread about altgarden i think was over at PG, someone got busted after ordering a light and his lawyer told him they rolled on him... and I admit the worm's way incidents are a few years back but i know for a fact they have narked people out, i've read threads about it...if i come across the threads i will post a link...i also don't think u should have to worry about being urself when u go to a grow store...as long as u don't specifically say anything about growing pot they should just shut up and serve you...like the guy above said he actually got kicked out of the store for asking about plant food?? not a place i would want to go...

I've shopped wormsway in person w/o issue -great folks - good prices - and good stock. Look online for what you want, make a list, and pay with cash - they don't take your info unless you want them to.

As for the whole worms way rolls on growers thing... it was operation green merchant and worms way was advertising in high times back then and they forced worms way to give up their customer list in court as did many other shops and yes people got busted because of it.

That is why worms way will never discuss anything cannabis related such as advanced nutrients - they've learned their lesson - if they even hint at cannabis related uses for the equipment then they have opened themselves to being a part of a conspiracy to commit a crime. So that's why they kick people out who talk about things like advanced nutrients (which suck btw - go with General hydro).

More recently their have been posts of people getting busted (I remember one in particular on OG) for ordering online from MDhydro. In that case though it was UPS that turned over the data - not the stores - UPS did it - they just gave out a list of people who had shit delivered from MDhydro as the story goes - then the cops come and take a look - if odor is not under control or if you throw out plant material in the garbage they may be able to get a warrant for a search or an IR scan - then the bust.

SO just go buy your shit - take your friends car if you can (but hey you just broke rule #1 - don't tell anyone ) - pay cash - and get the fuck out of there. Go home and smoke some indica and relax.

Also it's a good idea not to buy too much stuff at once - i.e. three 600 watters, a supersize can filter, 5 gallons worth of nutrients, and a pile of RW slabs... if someone was watching the parking lot they would probably be more likely to go after you.

FWIW there was a store in Oregon that was having the cops sit outside and they were following people home and investigating them... but they wouldn't follow you across state lines - in that case you're actually better off then if you were local.

God they really did that at the Oregon store, what the hell for isnt that a liberal state?Shit if they were doing that down here I'd been busted years ago, wormsway is not unsafe to shop at.Remember these are businesses that are there to get your money, not to get you in trouble.Unless a certain store is being watched, you need not worry much IMO

i made it back :)

I didnt go to worms way after what some other people said. Maybe it just boils down to the particular worms way and the employees there.

I think next time I get something ill drive to california. I vaguely remember a vacation long ago where our car go searched for fruit flies or something at the border. Anyone know about that? I dont want to get searched with some neat stuff on me.

im so pissed at ww...i will never go to their online store again..heres the deal- ..I thought my identity was safe but..one day i went online to their store to see if they had a particular item- i did not submit my email or name or address..i just browsed the site....They have spyware- data miners- or something cuz a few weeks later a magazine from them shows up at my address with my name on it...??? I called and had me removed from the mailing list..when i asked how they got all my information- the guy said they record IP addresses in order to target their customers..Bullshyt I say..They better fix their ways or lose on many customers cuz this shyt aint cool..I wonder what my mailman thinks gettting packages from over seas and cataloga from a grow shop...so for now Fook Worms Way online store, unless you want your address stored in a database of their customers..and the sad part is- I never ordered from them online- i just browsed the site..Invasion of privacy without my consent is some nasty trickery- im sure this same thing has happened to some of you...never again i say- they lost my trust for good. Heads up ppl.

wow, thats hard to believe. if thats true everyone should be using tor or some other anonymous internet program.

how could they even do that? id guess they would have to get the ip, figure out the service provider, and then contact your internet service provider for your name and address. I know theres ip tracers to get a general location, but your exact name and address? thats freaky, man.

yeah ruby eyed I have trouble on that one - I have browsed their site often w/o ever getting on their mailing list.

Just tracking your IP addy won't get you there either. IF they get your IP they have to go to your ISP to get your address and they would need a supenia to do that.

I can only think that maybe you had your addy stored in a cookie from another site that they pulled it from?

gotta keep the cookies clear and clean up any spyware tracking cookies you find, daily.
