Its day 18 & have confirmed 3 males & 2 females. I transplanted 2 of the males into a 1 gallon pot & the females each into a 1 gallon pot of their own I decided to leave the other male in the cup just to cut down on more space being used up.pix will be posted in a day or 2.

i'll let you know if i see any color or not. i checked on my female outdoors its going really good no color on it but ide say a little more then twice the size of these & about 2 weeks older i'll take some pix later today & post them up tonight. the light im using now just doesnt have enough intensity i guess to get these bigger so it looks like their going to be really small, but its ok just to make seeds, i have a few other non autos growing with them & decided to switch to 12/12 later this week so that they can start to flower & the auto will finish faster & give me more room for the regular plants to finish.

You can still get more than enough seeds from a little plant if you time your pollination right mate..

Easily enough to do a full tent SOG then pick the best fem from that to pollinate and you're golden for the future :)

I ment to ask this earlier, how long do you leave you seeds to ripen on an AF plant. Is it the normal 4-5 weeks?

Yes mate, i normally find a full month does the trick.. indoor for me anyway

Then dry with the seeds in providing they aren't falling out prior to chop, and they are good to go. A couple extra weeks to dry in a brown envelope or similar and get close to 100%

i should get a good amount of seeds i'll pollenate them 2-3 times during their flower stage....as promised heres the outdoor plant 100% organic in soil its not very big around 7 inches no color but is starting to get a sweet floral slightly fruity smell to it.

wow that is a smallish one! It is always best to start AF SOG type AFs outdoors if you are going to put them there to finish. They sometimes have trouble adjusting to the sunlight. Indoors are where FS x PB excel.

Multiple pollination is not advised, it is best to let AFs go deeper into flowering right before you start seeing your first hairs starting to turn, by this time they will have large flowers full of white hairs = complete pollination which all ripen at the same time. The reason for this is most AFs don't produce near as many flowers if pollinated early on. It takes some time to get used to AFs, the common misunderstanding of AFs is that they are EASIER? then Non-AFs. its simply not true in many aspects. Yes they are faster and easier to flower, but they don't have time to recover from mistakes, nor do they grow the same as Non-AFs, it takes an entirely different approach to get them to top potential. Here to help tho!

HI SGS! thanks for the advice this is my 1st time making seeds from AF male & female so i have no clue haha made hybrids with a AF male & non AF female before.

the plant outside i started indoors in front of the window for about 2 weeks & it didnt get alot of direct sunlight i wanted to put it outside earlier but didnt get the chance i was super sick & didnt get it out there as soon as it sprouted, as soon as i got better i put it out so thats why its sooo small.next year i'll start them outside right away things just didnt go as planned this year so i apologies now for the crummy grow report but figured some might want to watch anyways.

For sure i'm tuned in until the end :)

All your plants look healthy and well cared for though which is great to see!

The first few weeks are essential to get the most light to them if you can, using the same volume pots my 600w plants were close to twice the size my 400w plants are now (indoors anyway) With this strain anyway..due to it's small veg stage.

What AF to non AF cross did you make? Did you breed them out or was it just for fun? Any pics? :)

the af x non af strain i did was done in 2003 i have no idea what af strain it was someone from work gave it to me & it flowered under 24 hrs of light at the 4th internode i crossed it with a male hindu kush from nirvana seeds. when i grew it out not one seed had the af trait the hindu kush stablized it? i then crossed that to satori in 2005 before they reworked satori which now the strain carries the name ICON which is were i came up with my handle. i named it that cuz it was the talk of the town everybody wanted to know were they could get more & was constantly asking about it.

hey icon, That cross looks great, very nice density to those nuggs! F1 generations usually never show AF traits, you should have made F2s of the AF x HK, there you would have found AFs, then continue to select AF plants to make a stable AF IBL. You still have them I hope??

In 2003 it was more then likely the early release of LowRyder#1. Which actually had some decent phenos, unlike the general community would say.

The FS x PB are looking ok,, they don't seem to be liking the coco, Not many AFs do it seems, DWC or Eb&Flo with some rockwool seem to be the best hydro types for AFs. Coco is in no way a substitute for good Organic soil and newts. Which is what all SGS strains are bred in.

Check out Mitch's FS x PB soil grow, you can see the size difference compared to coco.
