A ride on the Orient Express

Hello everyone. I present my girls.

And the Boys

Out of a pack I got 4 females and 3 males, as you can see, a good ratio.

The one in the green pot is going to be repotted and then flowered in about a week. The other females will be flowered as space opens up in my flower chamber.

Just for informational purposes:

MIX
MG potting mix
perlite
espoma brand lime
bone meal
worm castings

The white cups are 16 oz(475ml), the green pot is 1/2 gal(2 L), and the final flowering pot is 2.5gal(9 L).

I also plan on putting a few of these outdoors. I am just waiting for the clones to root. I hope to update this thread weekly, I'll try anyway.

Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for the thread scaramanga,

They should produce a nice yield if you re pot them in early flowering. Add lots of warm casting in the next pot (guano would be great too), they love it.

Im glad to hear you have different females to experience orient express personality.
Best wishes, hope you enjoy them!

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

One of the reasons that I chose to grow the O.E. is just what you described, very exotic sounding. Plus the very few grow threads that I had read on the O.E. all looked very interesting/unique. That combined with the descriptions of the smells and tastes that it provides sold me on it.

I love landraces and none-dutch varieties, my all time favorite is a Jamaican girl whose seeds were brought back by a friend. I have been purchasing commercially available seeds/strains for over 15 years, and the dutch varieties just share too many common ancestors for me anymore;they all share a "sameness". So when I read the description of the O.E. I was sold. I have also been dying to try something with Vietnamese genes in it for a while.:joint:

Happy harvest

Awesome scaramanga!!! They all look nice and healthy. Hope they produce some BIG flowers for you. What are your plans for the males? How far north are you for doing an outdoor grow?

Have fun and keep on growing :D :D

Hi Bacchus, thanks. I will definitely be making f2's as well as crossing them with several of my other mothers. I'm not too far north, in the mid 30's. I will probably put these out later in the year as part of a short season stealth grow.

I was just looking at the males and apparently I mis-labeled one of them. So as it turns out I have 5 females and 2 males. It was actually the one that took the longest to show; 17 days. It happens sometimes when you are running several strains.

Mayan and Seismic, thanks for stopping by guys. Feel free to jump in at any time.

Here we go. I repotted one in a 9L pot and in she goes to 12/12. The middle pic is how she looked after I cut a few branches off; for clones.

And here are 3 of the 4 remaining females in their new 1/2gal homes. The small plant in the last pic is Sam's Thai/Haze x Skunk.

All of these girls were trimmed after these photos were taken. It's getting too crowded in my veg chamber.

Looking good man:joint:
Do you have any plans to scrog the thai/hazexskunk?

Excellent, scaramanga. Mine are curing now and I'm actually exercising will power this time around (shock!!!!!) so I'll be sampling it soon. I will say, from trimming, that the tall OE was one of the most resinous plants I have ever had stick to me from merely brushing against it lightly.

Seismic: Thanks. I haven't sexed it yet. But no, I probably wont scrog, I'm more of a SOG kind of guy. I'm hoping to sex him/her within a couple of weeks. I plan on crossing it with a few choice breeds. If it's a girl she's going to get cloned and tossed out in the woods.

Mayan: I can't wait to hear the smoke report on yours. They looked great by the way;I love that slightly wild look.

Pebble: Thanks. I noticed that you put a picture of an outdoor O.E. in the sticky thread. Nice dense looking foliage. What is your latitude?

DAY 9

She seems to like her environment and is starting to put on a stretch. She has also just started putting out a few pistils. I'm just trying to keep her happy so she can do her thing.

This one was trimmed twice before going into flower. She was growing so fast in veg that she was about to overgrow my veg chamber.
