A question for you monster croppers..

I am attempting my first monster crop. I'm at day 22 of flower on a 56 day period with Royal Queens Critical Kush. My question is about bud sites. Should I remove them? If yes, when? I hope this works. Thanks.

When I've grown em big I prefer to shape/train them in veg. Once in flower I wait until the stretch is over and only remove the stuff below the main canopy that won't get enough light to be worth the hassle.

So I don't do much training/pruning after the flip unless they will get to close to the light during stretch, which is usually from letting em get to tall in veg in relation to rest of crop. And I never remove anything that is getting ample light.

Sorry I was referring to Monster Cropping or A flowering clone.
I just treat mine like normal clones to begin with. Bare trim last two nodes before plug and part trim top leaves. Once im happy they are well rooted, i pinch out the tip of each significant bud top and gently remove lower buds while preserving leaves if possible. Pinching out seems to increase the number of reveg sprouts. Unpinched buds also seem to stretch more while switching back. Be careful not to remove all of your buds too aggressively, you may have nothing left to reveg! Cheers and happy growing.

Thanks Growaway, So once they have solid roots what percentage of the bud sites do you pinch off? I've heard these things are beasts.

Pretty much everything from 4 or so nodes from the top. Lollipop em. Look for where new veg growth is sprouting from actively aand remove whats not active. Sometimes the trichome development during cloning makes my mouth water. Shaping and selective branch removal may be necessay to ensure balanced growth. You just want the plant to direct its energy into the new vege growths and not the ripening buds. Keep temps up and root mass warm and moist and veg growth will be encouraged. Cheers and happy growing.

Growaway, Thanks for all the help. If I can get it to take I will post pictures.

You are very welcome. Day 22 is right about the sweet spot for flowering clones from most varieties. I have struck day 60 cuts before... now thats troublesome. Look forward to seeing pics if you can. Cheers.

I usually wait until the rooted clone(taken from a flowering plant) has grown to about 8"-12" and of course has multiple top shoots. Then I take off any pieces that were from the flowering stage(little buds/nodes). I also take off all the weird leaves from the re-veg(singe bladed leaves, 3 blade weird shaped leaves).

By doing that, I feel the plant starts to grow even faster. Within a couple days of the pruning, the plant(s) look just like a normal clone, except they are branchy as hell for a small plant. Makes it real easy to keep a strain alive without having to have a dedicated mother.

Plus once it's been done once, I can get several quality clones, without having to take them from a flowering mother, and wait for them to re-veg.

I usually just leave them alone and let them do their own thing because new growth starts everywhere, then again I am somewhat of a lazy person, lol.

Hi MedNugs. I know it's been over a year but how did it turn out? Did it get as bushy as they say?

Did u reveg the entire plant or did u take clones?

Either way how many buds did u leave on each? If u cloned how big were the cuttings and how many flwrs did u lv

If you take a flowering clone, how many flowers is best? 1,2,3 more or none? Which ones are best to keep if you have 3+ per clone? If u must take the cola shud I reveg the whole thing or pinch the top? Cant find anything specific on this

Best wishes
