Remember that they can't do a lot of things for themselves and that they depend on you to make their life a quality life!

A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS.........

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choosenot to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long,or
my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

~Take a moment today to give thanks for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them.

Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without our critter brothers and sisters.

Now please pass this on to other pet owners. Hope, love, and joyfulness abounds here on earth and has four legs!

Sounds like it came from PETA, naw just kidding, very cool, it's easy to take the pets for granted, this is a good reminder that they can be taught things and obey well without beating them or getting angry at them..

me too I read this, and it was good

I have a cat I really love and a wiener dog

the wiener dog is a female
she is pretty nervous/sensitive/scared

and she pees all the time (joy) (but no joy for me !)

I don't take care of the dog all the time because I can't stand living here,
my parents bought him for me and my sister (mainly my sister, but she is lazy)

in the end, my mom is the one who is having the best times with the dog,
but I guess with work, the dog and the house it is a lot.

it's not easy taking care of a dog

"its not easy taking care of a dog"

if only people realised that before getting one the pounds would be half empty.

not easy but worth it!

So true...to me my pups are like my plants you gotta care for them feed them clean food and give them the best enviroment you can to get the best rewards.

Whats time or money compared to a life time of absolute loyalty and love??

We are taking my dog in tomorrow to see if we need to put her to sleep (we were going to for sure do it tomorrow but she started eating again, and stopped puking blood so we are going to have the vet check her out first) but good thread.

Thanks man. This might sound bad, but I am totally at peace with it at this point. 3 years ago the vet said she had a month to live when she blew out her knee, there was like a 80% chance she wouldn't recover well after the surgery, and almost 100% chance she would be dead before summer was over. She has been here for 3 years since, and every one of those days I have been thrilled that she is around, but I understand that it is only natural and everything has to die at some point. Plus, with the way she was feeling these past few days I honestly figured putting her down was the right choice because its better to humanely put her to sleep than to selfishly keep her alive and in pain for my sake.
