You seem to forget we all don't have environments suited for growing or keeping liquids cool. The heat the Chiller pumps out will have no impact on the rooms temps. Its been running for a week works perfectly with no added temp to the room. My rez was a PITA to keep cool last year. My veg room has a metal roof witch radiates heat like an oven. Watering the plants with hot nutrients will kill the plants or harm them. I wont fight with it anymore. My options are limited. Keeping the Rez insulated in my environment will help keep it cool with the chillers help. It will be more efficient with the drum wrapped so the chiller wont have to cycle so often. I work with what I have.

um,how can a chiller not be adding heat to the room? it doesnt disappear when its removed from the water.
it would be more efficient to insulate the roof and keep the room cooler that way....

Room is already hotter then what the chiller adds. it wont add any more heat then whats aready there. its heat output is not enough to raise the heat more then what it is. pick... Cnt do that. ther eis a 2" gap that is exposed to the outside. I can stick my hand through it. I can see the tress. This is not part of the house. Its attached but separate. Also the cost to insulate the roof is 20x what it would to do the rez. If its 100f outside its 100f in my veg room. Then add the heat from the roof.

I do not hammer. I keep it in the flower room as well....havent had any issues with Jacks and Calnit with those room temps!

Huey, you guys getting pummeled with rain? Holy hell, it started around 9am here and its still goin! Windy as all hell too! Saw they even had chain controls over the pass to get to your neck of the woods from where i am....crazy

Noticed quite a few of the cuts are poppin roots in the ole aero cloner....today is day 8 or 9....gonna let them hang out in there for a few days before transplant

Im sure all of you guys were watching already last night, but did ya see the Cubs pitcher Arrieta threw a no hitter! 2nd one in his last 16 starts!

We had a nice down poor come thru...clear skies now lol :shucks: hopefully there is more to come for us...Im not really sure if we are still in a drought...no one talks of it really and what you hear from different sources the info is all over the place

Looks like the pc is back to itself...time will tell lol...nice to get it back working again

I dont insulate my res either but I will say its a great idea... Hammer your exactly right...the insulation will definitely keep your chiller from cycling on so often...I think we are in for a HOT summer too

Talladega isnt till next week...its all good lol

time for a few more bowls :D

i was thinking of styro board since its easy to put up,i dont know how big the room is but its like 30 bucks a sheet for 2 inch, but even just some reflectix would help a lot,my garage is super hot in the summer but just one layer of reflectix on the door was enough to cut 10-15 degrees off the temp out there...

heck,im giving serious thought to cutting back to 2 lamps for the summer and just funnel all the cooling through a 4x8 space figuring its better to grow less top quality bud than a bunch of heat stressed plants..and then i can get away with 400w in veg and get back up to four lamps in the fall

:tumbleweed: i was hoping it would rain a bit more last night but i guess this is the desert after all...

:chin: been mulling over ideas for dealing with the summer heat and how to deal with what i have going on here...im thinking since i have two 4x4 tents that i could just set them up with a 1000w lamp each,a 6 inch fan/filter combo for exhaust, use one 6 inch fan for hood cooling, and a 4 inch intake fan coming straight from the swamp cooler ducting...should be able to keep things much cooler that way than trying to keep 4 lamps in a 12x12 room cool...

Hey fellas

Is it a round or square res...if its square the foam board would be good but I dont think it would work so well if it were round...if it were round the reflectix or flexible insulation Id think...I have seen where they are making the insulated blankets for under current systems...Im not sure if they do the same for reservoirs but you never know

Not much happening here either...im gonna try and cleanup around the house and put the covers back on my pc...seems to be running fine again :D

Got to share this with you guys...Baker made my day...put a big ole grin on my face as I was watering some gals...Baker comes trotting in with a bone...next thing I know he has it in one of my pots and was trying to cover it with coco...it was so cute but at the same time Im thinking holy shit dont do that...thankfully as he was trying to cover it it got knocked out so he chose another spot...made my day though

We have the fight tonight :woohoo:...I doubt I can make the distance to stay awake though lol...I usually end up falling asleep just before the main event hahaha

Well sunny skies here...Cali is notorious for the sunshine...I appreciate what little rain we did get though yesterday

Puff it up fellas :smoke out:

you have the room . get a couple cheap ebay 4 x 8 tents . i paid about 180$ each for mine & they're pretty good quality .
use the 4 x 4 for veg or as extra flower space .

Mornin SUKers :coffee:

Homedepot run today to get the last little bits to get my ventilation installed tonight . then once the flower room is done & all set up .... gotta work on getting the veg rooms ventilation done . i've had no intake in the veg room except what comes in through the rafters , but thats not going to cut it in summer ! temps are already up to 84 in there .

dont want to buy new stuff if it can be avoided, plus the idea is to get the bills down over the summer just for the hottest months and reduce the heat load...but,i can see moving to two 4x8 tents or using styro panels to divide the room into two 4x8 areas since i could ventilate that setup better with my existing gear...

but i think saw two more along the way....typically you dont see them mid-day like this since most of their prey is nocturnal and most of them dont like 100 degree days any better than i do..presumably they are just waking up after winter and very very hungry...

anywho...flowers and blossoms everywhere...most all of the occatillo and hedgehog cactus were blooming, and the beehive cactus have started along with some prickly pear, and loads of little purple dalia flowers...lots and lots of flowers...pretty time of year in the desert...
