I bet that pile of parts is fooking expensive. At first I thought the tires said Thunder Butt. Been cooler if they did haha.

Ichabod, you fell off a roof?

Nice looking bike parts. Upgrading one of your bikes or building a new one?

At the current pace you have a chance of one day owning one for each year you have been alive.

i have no idea what a mertz is...i guess the plan is to get a small bus to take the workers down to the site so i plan on taking that to work then riding home...the front wheel is a dyno hub and i got a gawd awful expensive lighting system...there's a half dozen routes of various gnarliness, from straight road rides to along the river or ditchbanks or even singletrack....and yes,i'm fully aware that i already have bikes perfect for any of those examples...i swear this is the last one...prime numbers and all,i would need to buy 4 more bikes to get to 11,the next prime after 7:D

🔧 i enjoy the process of getting everything together and building the bike up just as much as actually riding them...it's one thing to slap a bunch of parts on a frame and call it good,it's another to carefully curate each component within an overall plan for the aesthetic quality of the completed bike...bling is not bling if it doesn't function flawlessly,it's just shiny junk...

:tumbleweed:afternoon campers...yeah,the bike shop ain't making out on this build, lately they can't get anything parts wise,and/or the companies they work with don't stock what i want...plus they fucked up my rim order twice...and i ordered handlebars from them and the ship date has been bumped 4 times already...the bulk of the parts were ordered online, the house is crowded with boxes from all the orders! and yeah, that's a pretty penny of parts, the set of wheels all dressed out with disc rotors, cassette, and tires is like 1200 bux...the lighting system another 500...

in stoner terms, the whole shebang was 2lbs:biggrin:

alrighty, trim jail, one last container to manicure....aside from the tent full that's drying now

I wish I was more of a parts nerd. Never built my own bike before. I feel like I need to put in a year at a bike shop so I can try out all the possibilities. Once you start talking chainring sizes and crank lengths, how slack or whatever it makes sense to me on paper but I don't have the experience to see how it translates to how the bike feels when I ride it. Riding is definitely my favorite part. I did recently buy a repair stand and tool kit.

I've been so busy rearranging/Cleaning my veg room. Just shy of the space needed to turn the tents flush along the width of the room. Putting up the 2nd 8x4 wasn't easy. There's no extra space to finagle it into submission. I finally got it up. My back is killing me now. I still have all the crap I took out that needs to be dumped.. It will be a much better growing space when done. I could use it for both flower and veg at some point.

lol, naw, really it just requires a shitload of money! my original bike i've probably rebuilt a dozen times..then again i did just plain ass wear a lot of stuff out or break stuff...and had to acquire an ever increasing tool set because everything is so insanely specific now. but yeah, you never really know until you ride the bike...as i say,no bike is complete until there's nothing that annoys you about it...

I don't have money, I have children instead.

I told myself after dropping over 3 g on this last bike I was going to replace anything that annoys me. So far the rear hub was the only major thing. Going full XT drivetrain next.

I keep trying to stash enough money to get a new gravel bike packing bike. Not as fun as riding singletrack but where I live it would get more miles on it than my more fun bike. Been eyeing up that salsa Fargo for a while now.

industry 9 hydra hub....good luck finding xt stuff....SRAM seems to be more available, the gx level eagle stuff is great, the xt stuff shifts better under pedal load, but as noted,is a bitch to find...it took me 8 weeks to put together a mostly xt group with an xtr derailleur because i couldn't find an xt...then the next problem with xt is the chainring and chain are specific to the group, the sram stuff has a bit more wiggle room for 3rd party stuff like chainrings and chains....and with the xt you'll need a microspline freehub body...with sram you can use an xg or hg freehub body and find a cassette to fit...

that's what i'm building,a gravel bike around a Mone' el continente frame...the fargo is a great bike,i had one but sold it...i dont like drop bars, but they sure do make singletrack extra spicy

So the gas company just sent me a letter. It said the average sized house with similar heating equipment used 59% more gas than I do.

But the last electric statement I got comparing me to other homes showed I used 25 times the average homes electric.

This all seems strange to me. Not sure why my heating would be down and my electric way up. Have to thing about that tonight when I am in the grow.
