If there is a salt buildup on the pots I try to give em a quick scrub but don’t spend much time on it…..I do need to order some smaller pots, probably going with the floraflex 1 gallon

i wash everything...the only things i use more of in the garden than bleach are water and medium...just a small stack of pots today...and cups and trays and plant tags...and about 100 bamboo stakes i wiped down one at a time....

For sure its best practice..
Your post reminds me unc I used to do all my plastic cups too.. but now I just throw them out and re-buy, I figure im allowed my footprint in the small time im here right?! Lord knows I've done my best to decrease my footprint over the years, and produced fuck loads of compost and vermicompost.

i don't throw cups away until they crack...but then again i'm the only grower i know that drills out like 30 small holes in the bottom for drainage...the only reason i get new cups is because i never get them back when i give out a clone so i make the recipient buy me a new sleeve of cups....in spite of asking numerous times no one has ever bought me back a clean pot when i give them larger plants so same thing,i make them bring a brand new pot of whatever size....clean doesn't mean empty with dirt clinging to the sides,it means frickin clean dammit!

I used to never wash my pots and then had a bout of hop latent viroid come thru my veg room. Then I started washing everything in an attempt to rid myself of it.
Then covid hit and I started hearing who long a virus can live on a hard surface such as plastic and realized there was absolutely no chance that a viroid can live a week on hard plastic without a host.
I don’t wash any of my pots anymore.

Got some fresh water on tap for my new spot.

I think the Viroid virus was caused by people sending infected cuts, then it spread throughout USA. I use a ton of bleach. I'll be tossing my Herc pots soon. They are the hardest pots to clean I've ever had. They need to soak to get those slats clean. The standard Nursery pots are much easier.

Very true, very true *hangs head in shame

The cleanliness seems to come in a burst after a problem has already surfaced lol.

That said I've dropped any pest management.. besides sticky cards.. as I don't have any pests.. besides fungus gnats..

:gday:

with as many IG followers you have the bucket company may give you a discount? their products look top notch but pricey in my opinion….you ought to check out the floraflex products. 12x 3 gal buckets < $70, 12x platforms for drainage < $160 and then add the connectors/hoses which don’t add much. Tech support answered my messages and will help with a parts list. I have some of their products already and am pleased with the quality. they also have videos so even knuckleheads like me can follow.

I don’t wash any of my pots anymore
your grow rooms are always so clean I would never have guessed you don’t wash/sterilize between runs.

I think the clean part is for utensils, not so much for pots. I clean or use new razors all the time. I def slack on pot cleaning. They all get sprays with bleach before use.

:tumbleweed: mornin campers....how are pots not a utensil? when you eat you don't wash the fork and leave the plate dirty...anyway,the nice thing about growing is you get to say bugger everyone else, this is the way i do things...

got some errands to run today that i put off yesterday to get the cleaning done...as a result i only need to do basic garden chores today, easy peasy...last watering for half the main room tonight, harvest saturday...just in time to make a new mess...just got rid of the last rootballs from the previous harvest this morning, all the pots are washed...plants for the next round about ready...need to prune them back hard and get cuts, and spray them for critters...this round i will harvest and pull the trays out for cleaning and reset the next night after a room cleanup...gonna be an interesting harvest, some of the plants are like 4-5 feet tall...
