:tumbleweed:back from errands...along the way i met another rider on a fixie, was impressed with my trackstanding ability and liked my bike...think it was one of them pronoun people...seemed nice enough, also had a cool bike in spite of it's lack of ability to coast...i give the young people lots of flack...but i think they will be alright...

one great thing about bikes is it brings all sorts of people together....those little things like age or gender or politics just doesn't matter on a bike,we're all just trying to not get killed by idiots in cars!

except for the lycra wearing, gel puking roadies,no one likes them!

30 miles off road:tumbleweed:sounds brutal

this particular ride was like 70% approach, the dirt part was brief but difficult due to the incredibly fine flour sand...saturday i'm doing a long mostly off pavement ride that includes the most insane downhill on pavement section around here...so frickin steep! it's pretty scary, lots of switchbacks and there's always a sandy patch in the worst spots...then a long straight section that drops down the mountainside, that part i've hit 50mph...

should be an ass kicker....13 miles that takes 3-4 hours, then 40 miles that only takes 3 hours...

Only time I ever hit 50 miles an hour unassisted was probably on skis:skiiing:Then again maybe not it seems kind of fast

if you haven't seen it,red bull rampage was last friday.....pretty gnarly....three riders wrecked out and got bad enough injuries to go to the hospital...

I liked it better when they barely changed the mountain side they were riding. Now they carve it all up and it's really just a slope style course with pretty scenery. Still pretty awesome to watch them flip and spin off cliffs.

My girls have commented a few times how everyone we meet on a ride seems pretty cool. I explained once you get far enough off the pavement the percentage of assholes usually goes way down. And you know when you see someone else working their ass off to share the same experience they know how hard you worked to get there too.

Hopefully I get enough trimming done today to not feel any guilt if I get a few hours of singletrack in this evening.

Morning fellas, it's 38F out! The last storm took all, but the most steadfast of leaves. Old man winter is just setting up his pieces for the inevitable, demoralizing checkmate.
I'm just happy to not sweat my ass off, or have to run 3 A/Cs and 2 dehus to prevent it. My spending arm is killing me. Soon the local market will be flooded with cheap- barely food grade weed. Pretty messed up, that our industry's lowest quality is considered to be "food grade", lol!

good tv,bad idea...just as bad if not worse are all the "shredits" where they build some insane track for 3 minutes of video then leave it to erode away or cause people who shouldn't be riding that kind of stuff injured...leave the bike park stuff in bike parks...

I just bought some crank bros shoes. The pattern in the soles matches the pegs on my peddle. I had not noticed my other shoes were even slacking. But they were.

I always have some weed ready to smoke. And I am pretty sure I would be all out of toes by now if I wore sandals riding.

i wear keen sandals with a closed toe box,too many spiny plants here...and rocks...need to get a new pair soon, the pedal pins have gouged out craters in the soles...otherwise i wear 5-10 freeriders, best traction rubber, like being velcroed to the pedals
