Has anyone ever seen these? They are smaller than a fungus gnat, with shorter legs and bodies. Their wings are proportionately larger than their bodies, and mostly remain upright like a butterfly, as they meander around. There are a couple fungus gnats and a fly for size comparison. They move pretty slowly and are easy to catch and kill as they post up on the plant tag when I water, unlike fungus gnats. They don't seem to be doing much besides getting stuck in my trichs, but that's enough for me to not want them. Any insight would be most appreciated!

Check your roots. Appears to be root aphids.

I think it might be Rice Root Aphids. Has anyone gotten rid of these organically? I guess the two major schools of thought are fungal or natural chemical. I'm going to keep pounding down more info on what's most effective. The consensus seems to be to use a multi-pronged attack, as fast as possible. Looks like I have to add more money to the card, and read all of my current pesticide labels for effectiveness and compatibility. Jeez, I can't catch a break! First it was spider mites, then fungus gnats, then pm, now these fuckers. As soon as one gets under control, another takes its place. What the heck?! I run a pretty clean ship here and don't know why there have been so many pathogens lately. Maybe I'm just too damn likeable. :trampoline: (that's me getting fucked around by pests)

have to make space in the fridge so i can chill the water...no need to get ice until i do that...i think i shopped enough today to be able to do an ice only fast dash home from the store run...or i suppose i could put a cooler in the trailer...

think i will go through all the bike parts and get them organized and the drawers labeled...and get the work stand area cleaned off

Less is more my brother.

Going to try an Organocide drench today, but my hopes are pretty low.

Why do you need that?. Root aphids or Gnats?. If gnats I posted how to rid yourself of those for good.
