any heated air should be removed as quickly as you can, otherwise the cooling can be ineffective since the two air masses will want to stay separate and not mix well...

I picked up this small bakers rack to hold my new aero cloner, haven't used the cloner yet and frankly don't want to, I like my cuts in perlite sitting in water, under a veg light. Anyway those cuts are usually about 2 ft from a 4 2 ft bulb t5, do you think this rack and cloner will work with an aluminum shop light with small cfl bulb in it?
I would sit the dome right on the top rack...

you don't even need a light over it , the ambient light thats next to it is enough to root clones . they don't need strong lighting . mines set up just like that , gets light from the veg room a few feet away .

i thought i had a better pic of mine , but i guess not . its sitting on a rack just like yours a few feet away from my veg room & it gets plenty of light .

I think i got this figured out .

my basement rooms are closed rooms & theres no AC getting down there from the house . each section has a door way & they seal pretty tight . so i doubt its going to effect my central AC very much . the room i'm pulling air from is the man cave & it hovers around 70 to 72 .
the hot air will be forced outside pretty rapidly . i'm going to have an 8" fan on each set of 2 lights & 1 filter . , plus where the vents tie into the bay that goes out back , theres an 8" fan i can put there to force it the 8' or so to get it outside . hopefully i can eliminate that fan & just use the 2 that push through the lights .
what i'm worried about is if that 1 8" intake fan is going to be enough intake for the whole room .
i think if i dial back the 2 exhaust fans a little , i should be able to get the air exhange rate i want without overworking the intake fan . as long as it doesn't raise the heat in the room from slowing down the exhaust fans .....

looks like i'm going to have to invest in a couple Variacs ..... these max fans don't respond well to the cheap fan speed controllers .

If the rooms are that tight maybe try one 8" fan just before the Y that's gonna go out, will save you a fan and little energy.... Tho with the 2 slowed slightly but still pulling just more than coming in your lookin pretty on smell and neg pressure

you mean 1 fan pulling from both sets of lights & filters instead of a fan on each line ?sorta like the pic of bobbys room i just put up ? i think i'm going to just use the 2 fans , one after each filter pushing out . the 3rd fan would be overkill .
i'm worried about too much negative pressure . i had the 3 fans going with the tent set up & the tent walls were getting sucked in even with a 6" max fan blowing full speed in each tent. i Y'd them off the 8" coming from the intake .
i'm setting this up basically (minus 1 fan ) the same way , just no tents .....
I need more intake .....or slow the exhaust down & hope it doesn't heat up the room to bad .

you have a lot more space to exhaust out of the tents though, its probably underkill really...really a 12 inch fan/filter is what you probably need for exhaust...

time for more puffin...almost bedtime...

12" F&F huh ? like that pic i showed of bobbys room .....

i could drop that right in the center against the back wall & vent it all out the same bay ......
would 12" to 2 8" ducts work ? it would have to .....

Just picked up a blulab combo meter. I guess 208 is a good deal considering it has 5 year warranty.
Still kicking around the idea of 315lec lighting. And again, I guess $3k is a good deal when you consider the energy savings and maybe not drawing to much attention.
Now trying to deside what bulb to run. They claim ether bulb is good for flowering but in my mind nether bulb fits what has been imbedded into my memory bank for good flower bulbs. They both lean towards veg but don't fit that ether. Maybe I'm a dumb ass and have it al wrong :dunno:

Joe, just be prepared to replace the ph probe about every two years. They're only $50 so not too bad but blue lab will tell ya there're only built to last a year or so.

Morning all!
