i wonder what the story is with that vid dans posted,that would have been around vapor trails so i wonder what was going on there,i dont think theres an album that correlates to that set of songs,but note perfect renditions of earlier material...maybe practice to be back on the road as that would have been after neil's wife and daughter had died...

it was made as a video , not a live show . it was said that they were miming to that song & it was a studio recording . but they did play live for fly by night & la villa stragniato ......
dunno how much of it is true except that it wasn't a tour , but just videos .
hmmm,usually rush doesnt "lip synch" so to speak,or bow to corporate pressure of any sort so that would seem like a strange thing for them to do,plus to my eye it looks like they are playing along perfectly,maybe its the old studio recording you here though...they about drove themselves batty trying to live record "la villa" originally,had to use three takes in the end...

that was back when MTV & music videos started becoming a big deal , so anything is possible .... especially for the right amount of $$$ . like you said , i think it was after Neils ordeal & all he wanted to do after he got back , was work to get his mind off things . & making videos was work .

they did plenty of standard videos during their synth phase...but i could see neil being a perfectionist wanting to be able to play the songs cleanly...anyway,interesting at any rate...
mornin campers...looks like summer is coming crashing down on us all of a sudden...close to 100 all next week....yikes,not looking forward to that...chores and the like today,trimming always leaves,(ha! it is mostly leaves) a mess,and theres always something that needs to be done that gets ignored during trim time...and groceries again...
time to break out the hydration pack,dont think 2 water bottles is gonna cut it for the summer...
a heat wave slammed us pretty good last weekend ! oppressive humidity ! so now that its in the 80's most days with lower RH , it actually seems really nice out . a nice breeze helps too though

im gonna have monkey butt over here for the weekend so i usually stick close to home when i have her over and use the time to catch up on house stuff and yardwork...in large part because she drags every scrap of plant matter and dirt in from the yard since shes like a mobile doggy swiffer...and im gonna need to water the yard now that its getting hot,always a good time to pull weeds when the ground is soaked...
