I have a question about the reservoir. Temps are at 22.3 degrees C / 72.14 degrees F at the hottest time of day today. Is that too hot?

No. My cab runs around 72 degrees as well. Plants are rejoicing. Anything above 60F and below 80F shouldn't cause you any reason for alarm. Once you start hitting 80, I'd start worrying about lowering temps or increasing CO2.

I plan to add some plumbing so I can pull the mag drive pump out of the res, but what else can I do to lower temps?

Ghetto cab cooler: Get some bottles of water, stick them in the freezer overnight. Stick them in among your plants (not touching). Swap them out every day. Frozen water will cool the air temp in your room. If it's a big room, use multiple 1 gallon bottles. If it's a micro grow, you could use 20oz bottles.
