@subrob The chem d cut I got from crazy years ago turned out not to be chem d, but was actually the Staten island headband. I gave it to a fella on here and he gave it out to some more members, was going by the moniker mystery chem. Definitely made its rounds quickly.

the mystery chem I caught when it was going around didn't move me but might not have been the same one you had. it didn't stick in my friends gardens or mine.

I'm still looking for the headband I smoked in humbolt back in the day... I love the one I have now though so until I find a mo betta one.

I had a nice chat with Gaby today about re-migrating some gear from the east coast to the west again, so grateful to the folks who have passed me the clones that work so well to treat my health and hope that I can get to pay back the favor to "Staten Island".

If it is the one ggk, VP, or dtog had, it is the same one. I gave it to ggk and he spread it around. I got it from Crazy Composer. Some folks liked it more than others. Thats just how it goes.

Interesting! Makes me want to get this chem d into flower even more. I will say that the D cut I got from crazy was nothing like any headband I ever saw smoked or tasted. If the cut he gave me IS Staten Island headband, then it's not actually headband, just borrowed the name.

There was a cut going around socal before we got this cut from CC...it was called chem or chemdog. It wasn't d, 91, sis, or 4 for sure. But it was...I mean...it was near or on the top shelf. It wasn't chem though... definitely a ....sweeter..no...def a less stanky cut than D. But the fake name game in socal was in full force by then! Lol
Maybe I'll take a couple more cuts off the mom and give her the old bend and twist treatment, throw her in flower tent, try to get a few flowers off her. So I don't have to wait. Unfortunately, I just stripped her vegetation down to a few tops that will be more cuts in a few weeks.

And if that cc cut we got isn't chem d, I need to get her back. Luckily, she's been in constant rotation in socal for 13-14 years. Probably the best overall pot I've ever smoked!

@subrob the cut was definitely related to chem. And very different to any west coast headband. No OG influence, just pure fuel/burnt rubber. Not the most flavorful of the family. But still quality. And a very speedy high, kinda like having too much caffeine. I know Vanilla pheonix has a gallery of pics of her, and ggk has some pics as well on his old thread. I used to live pretty close to Crazy and I got it directly from him in 2015 I do believe. He said it came from stoney917 and resinryder before himself.

Ahhh...yeah...so...the cut he gave me in 09 he got directly from chemdawg. He went as far as to say he got it from cd at a rooftop party in NYC. Or something to that effect.

Just traded some ssh x Sourdubb seeds I made to stoney(for the resinryder fund raiser) for the good old SFV cut(tissue cultured). Stoney threw in some bonus cuts of Maui skunkdog (he knew I hadn't run her in awhile) and some skunkdog x sour diesel F4 seeds. Icmag mafia still riding hard!. Lol

I’m still looking for that Headband too chunk, in my opinion that cut was the baseline for pretty much all the Sour D and OG cuts we see today. The complexity and heady nugs of that headband derived from somewhere around Arcata are cemented in my memory.

See if you can get that "notso sour" and "notso headband" lol. Would love to see how they compare to the sour and headband you currently hold. we're not buddies yet, but hopefully will be after we share. I been calling into the other show I listed and becoming buddies with saint who's buddies with Gaby and it's just been a few of us chatting in that group but I didn't realize Gaby was Notso's Staten Island until last Friday's Riot show.

I think it's possible that I already have Notso's but gotta smoke them and compare. I'm hearing Notso's Sour and headband are for sale in that show's Patreon for a $500 donation...

I think it's dope that my friends here in the east been holding down and sharing old cuts that the west coast lost in the cookie craze.

Notso's sour is available but not the headband...yet. I am sure there will be more cuts made available as time goes on.

Mine arrived quickly and rooted within 7 days for the best cuts and around 14 for the less prime cuts.

It did. I've had notso's cut in veg for a few months.
As soon as I broke down and started getting cuts from back home, I got pests and pm.(not from the chem d, perfectly clean when I got her) Been going scorched earth for a couple months and I believe my room to be clean again. Point is, in the time I've been vegging notso's, seeing the growth, the variegation, the woodiness, the red shoots when not happy, the shape... everything points to being the exact same cut. Now, without flowering, cannot be 100%, but of the hundreds of cuts I've grown or sampled, I ran chem d (crazys) more than anything else in my life. For years. Lol. I know that cut. Top to bottom. And at this point, I'd bet everything I have it's the same. And I'm a cautious gambler
