BT sprays work on caterpillars.
BT = Bacillus Thuringiensis

Moths land on your outdoor trees July - August and lay eggs on the plant. The young hatchlings make there way to an internode, where they borrow into your precious ganja plants just starting to flower, and through early flowering. Thats when the most odds would be that they will find your trees and leave their nasty, evil, little offspring, to sprinkle caterpillar shit all over the tops of your flowers.
Which as we all know, quickens botrytis.
I had a problem with cats my first year ever guerilla growing
this season, and I had to spray at week 3 of flower.
I used Thuricide, but it was harder to find, and they didnt carry it in the grow stores.
I had to get it at a local mom and pops store. So search around if it isnt in the store you use.

EDIT:

And fwiw, It doesnt kill the cats until they eat it. Takes 3 -5 days to kill them. So if you see the classic build up shit pile and a hole near an internode, cut the stem upward with a razor blade and take the worm out. They are fast and will spin a thread of silk or whatever and spiderman to the ground quickly when exposed to the light. So step on it or catch it quickly (they wont bite) before you loose the thing on the leaves when it drops down.
Cut the buds off below the hole that have pillar shit sprinkled all over them, as it will surely get botrytis.

Organic pesticides that contain Bacillus thuringiensis work great for repelling the caterpillars.

Another more organic option that works well is use ACT's (aerated compost teas) as a foliar spray and that can keep them away as well.

Mendo I was wondering if you make any of the seeds from you crosses available. If were and how to obtain. This subject may have been covered, sorry have not read the entire trend. Just interested myself, would love to give some of them a go. Great work !!!

Great thread mendo. You are a hard worker and it shows.

I ran the gsc in a greenhouse last year. It did pretty well considering. Little bit lower yield than some other strains but probably due to clone start date as much as anything. Quality is fantastic. My only hesitation with running it again is how late it finished. On a bad year I would be bummed to have plants going until late Oct. in my climate (42N coastal).

Honestly though the cookies seems way more temperamental indoors than out. Took a while to dial her in under the lights.

Going to try some GSC crosses this year to see if I can find something that finishes earlier while still bringing the cookies to the jar.

Your crosses sound great I hope they do well for you.

how do you re-ammend /mix those big pots? Just dump everything in and spend a few hours with a shovel, or is there a better way? I'm not looking forward to that part at all.

also Do you get your soil tested first , or how did you know what ingredients to mix in?

Yes Yes and Yes.

when you've been doing it as long as I you just "know' what the plants want.

soil analysis is a great tool, last year was the first year I did testing.

Turning pots is what separates the men form the girls.

I still cant believe I survived the year I turned 100 pots!!!
What was I thinking, Oh I have my head up my ass I don't think.
